do maple longs sell?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I putted 600 maple longs on the ge this morning and didn't sell one.

haven't played for 1.5 years but I wonder why isn't the price lower, or do they sell at all? If not what am I supposed to do with them other then alching?

Frozen price, useless, no one buys, ends up as junk.

k, so what do i do with this junk? turn it in for points at the new minigame? or are there other ways to get me money of it?

edit: why is the price frozen?

Note I said useless. Ways of cashing it in is getting a highly sought item to lend out like claws or godswords and lending it out for a price.

I would just cash in for points for mobilzing armies

Use for junk, or as I did, give it in for commodities at Mobilising Armies.

Frozen price meaning that it only sells at lowest, but jagex made it so the med price will not fall any farther, and becase no one buys at that price, it is "frozen".

I understood that, but why did jagex do that? what is the point? now it doesn't sell at all because no one ever buys except low levels and f2p

I'm thinking it's so that people can't profit from alching them.

It's not Jagex. It's the market. If no one is buying or selling (or one side of the equation is missing), the price will stay the same - frozen (flat horizontal line if you look at the graphs).

There is some volatility for maple longs (it's not perfectly flat), but because the changes are so small in the price (due to very low demand), you might be able to sell them but it will take a while.. definitely not in a day.. maybe in a week or two if you're lucky I'm guessing.

if jagex didn't do it explain me why in 180 days it didn't get below 384gp but only above it? it only makes sence that it can't get lower then a point.

Oh you're talking about the min and max price. I was talking about the market price.

Yes, it looks like Jagex sets the min and max price.. I don't know why they do it.. and what formula they use to do it with.

I was always under the impression that it was +-5% of market price, but don't quote me.

It usually is, but with some items JaGeX creates a "bottom" so that the price cannot go any lower, and as stated above that is to minimize alching.

I heard somewhere that it was to make so sellers wouldn't be totally ripped off for their items and common skilled items wouldn't become super deflated. Fire runes and similar items that people generate a great number of would be going for less than half than they are now. Willow logs would be at like 2 GP right now
