Hey I just want to ask if Cave horrors are good money, I'm bored of tanking aviansies so I want something different.

I was getting about 300k-400k an hour at aviansies

I dont think it would be as good as 400k per hour, unless you get lucky. I would GUESS you can get 1 mask every 2 hours, with the occasional clue.

Almost nothing is 300k to 400k an hour if your looking at small scales of time, the only ways other than avies would be maybe if you got a rare drop from dragons (vissage) to average out to be 300k to 400k. If you want money skilling is better for guaranteed profit.

So does anyone know the drop rate of black masks?

Given they have 55 hp I'm thinking I'd be able to kill 2-3 a minute with my fury, d boots, regen bracelet and full dhide.

@Gorofujita I really don't like skilling, I find combat more fun, my skilling levels are all for quests lol.

If its 1/150, then go for it, sounds like it would be better. On my old main, I camped for a couple days when they came out and got about 10 masks and 7 clues, but I dont remember how long it took, drop rate, anything like that.

Black mask drop rate is about same as whip id say (roughly)

 

 

 

1-400 with wealth, 1/450 without (rough estimations) could be off

So you could theoretically kill a million cave horrors, and just be that unlucky to never get a black mask drop. Or you could get it on your first drop.

Well, cave horrors are very very spread out too, it would be difficult to get a condensed bit of them.

I actually have them blocked for slayer, because they are so bad.

You guys honestly don't know what you are talking about. I have heard numerous people say there drop rate for black mask is, and it is always around 1-150 to 1-200. I have killed around 800 of them and gotten 5 masks. Others who camp there say they get a mask around once every hour and a half or so. They are low HP, so poor xp. They do drop a fair amount of snap seeds, and crimson charms. Honestly, if i couldn't kill abbies or mages, I would camp horrors.

Ive killed 1k, no masks.

 

Wont be as fast as Aviansies.

 

 

 

And just cause they have low hp, dont think they suck. They still hit quite often on my with 99 defence and karils.

They may hit more than some things, but they hit low. A yip while keep you tip-top.

I'd say 1/150 to 1/200 is a decent rate. I usually get one every assignment. But Id still say aviansies are much better and consistant money.

Between Avainsies and Cave Horrors, I'd stick to Avainsies, even if it's boring, it will pay off. No joke.

The problem with aviansies is that they train range and I want to train strength to about 90 XD Being able to camp is a priority because I really hate having to always bank and go back >< That put me off green dragons. I'm camping cave slimes atm and they're about 270k.h for me.

 

 

 

So I don't mind sacrificing a bit of money per hour for melee xp.

 

 

 

My slayer is 58 at the moment, does anyone have any alternatives to cave horrors and aviansies?? Training farming atm, it's so boring! (for me at least)

 

 

 

I have 13m atm, and I want to get bandos tassets and chestplate because they look cool :D

I make 800-900k/hr there. I go and sit at the spot where 3 Cave Horrors spawn, and just let them attack me. Once they lose aggressiveness I move out of the area, and then back in. I can't really give much for directions to the spawn point. I just walk North.. I think. I also don't wear a ring of wealth while killing them. I suppose it also depends how fast you can kill the Cave Horrors. I 2-hit them, so I can kill a good number within an hour.

Of course. But do you have a better number you want to use?

 

 

 

If you had to give an average of how many kills it takes to get a mask, what number would you use? 1/30? 1/20? 1/500? No. Although it doesn't mean you're GUARANTEED a drop, it is the BEST NUMBER you can POSSIBLY put on this. If the drop rate was 1/150, and I asked you to give me the average kills needed for a drop, what would you say? Of course you would say 150, because that's the best number you can give.
