Since each of us is omniscient over our own countries, perhaps we could be omniscient over our off earth colonies, so that way we can effectively control them even though there's no superluminal communication. You just can't travel faster than the speed of light. Wisp Posted August 30, 2009 Share Posted August 30, 2009 The thing is, for something with mass to travel above or equal to the speed of light, it would take an infinite amount of energy, according to Einsteins special theory of relativity. I would say we'd be infinitely more likely to be able to build our own solar systems than to be able to travel faster than light. Warp holes are actually more realistic than ftl travel, since it's technically not ftl, but they don't exist, and they were just an idea (like a "what if" sort of thing). And japan is roughly 900 miles long. There is no way they can travel at over 1100 miles per hour. And that doesn't even include all the obstacles they have to get around. Most military planes cant do that. You're saying that bipedal mechs could travel at mach 1.5... No. And of course Russia is going to protect him.
