really, pures arent what people usually dislike, its the attitudes of the people that play them.

 

 

 

i quit my main and if i feel like playing its on my pure, and i hardly ever have people flaming me.

 

 

 

ive met a lot of pures that are d-bags, and a lot of mains that are too.

We have an amazing selection of pures that you can potentially piss off. All you have to do is get a pair of dragon claws and maybe a set of Verac's armour and/or ancient magicks and wait outside the portal, pretending to just be a passer-by. Once someone blurts out "House?!" and another person blurts out a name, go to that person's house, run to their combat ring, and unleash hell! Have fun as scores of pures start piling you, unable to penetrate your armour with their bows and swords. Have fun as they cuss you out and say that you fail at life for not having an "f cape".

Do you see a pure mage? Don't fear! Just simply keep your claws handy and spec them, then unleash hell with range and/or ancient magicks!

On-topic: A lot of players really can be douchebag idiots. Pures included.

 

 

 

Oh and with that text above about the pure house parties, feel free to go troll them. A lot of them are elitist 14 year olds anyway.

I remember a time when Jagex actually admitted to disliking of pures. it was done in ther form of a Guthix god letter. They didn't like people only focusing on one aspect of their game while they tried so hard to develop a game as a whole.

 

 

 

But once we got members and people started giving them money, they weren't so concerned about their "standards" anymore.

But no, I think the reason is that as a new player, most young people with some knowlegde of RuneScape will want to hit high, therefore train strength, therefore become a pure. And, as younger people are less mature, they will "seem" like idiots.

I have a somewhat high level pure that I quit my main to play on. This game has sorta lost its pizaz for me and now one of the funnest things to do for me is to pk.

 

 

 

OT. Sometimes when I log in and a main sees me they will go up to me and be like "rofl noob" and "stupid pure" things like that. I don't try to annoy people or anything the people that do this are just [developmentally delayed]s that have met a few stupid pures and think that all of them are like that. However there are some pures that are just total [wagon]es.

TBH these boards have become severely anti-pure and it's really lame. The original tip.it forums (pre 2004) also known as scapeboard had a lot of respect for pures and pkers in general... we were the home of some of the greatest pures in the game (mahatma, 3 hit u, etc...). On the old tip.it forums the graveyard section had the most threads on the entire forum. Not many of the old school pkers who earned respect from the community still play and those of us who still do aren't vocal, so we don't stand out in the community.

 

 

 

I'm currently playing a black pure of mine that was created in 2001, still has bunny ears and all that good stuff.... i've been pking since the explosion of pures. I think the misconception that pures are immature or jerks or alltogether unsavory characters stems from the fact that as each new generation of players comes in many inevitably create pures. Every new generation of pures more or less "grew up" watching the generation of pures before them. Through the evolution of pking and pures it seems like every "generation" of pures becomes less and less respectful and more and more about flaming.

 

 

 

Pking today is nothing like it was in 2001 and I don't just mean the weapons and builds used. It is true that pjing and all other activities generally seen as unsavory in the pking community have always been around... but pking used to be about respect. The community was much smaller back then and tbh there were relatively few pures... most pures new eachother or quickly came to know eachother through pking.

 

 

 

I won't deny that there is a large number of immature players using pures, but that's just how the game goes when the community has multiplied so many times. I'm not immature, I don't flame, i'm not arrogant... but i'm an OPK , if you will, Original Player Killer ( :lol: ). I've seen how this game has changed and how the pking scene has changed. And having some generalized hatred of pures is so ignorant, basically you yourself are becoming arrogant, immature, etc... by generalizing pures and giving them the stigma.

 

 

 

There are many members of the community who play pures who are not all of the things you seem to think pures are... Don't let the vocal 12 year olds define how you think a pure acts.

In reality, it's a pretty even ratio between pures who are immature jerks and mains who are immature jerks.

 

 

 

There will always be "that guy" who is so far gone, he just insults everyone about the stupidest thing. Being a pure, main, or skiller has nothing to do with it. Never has. The whole rift, the whole stereotype, is imaginary and will disappear if people don't acknowledge it. The game is filled with losers and what kind of account they play on is irrelevant.

 

 

 

People say that pures are arrogant, whiny [wagon]. And sure, some are. But that goes for everyone else in the game as well. To be honest, a lot of RS players are morons.

Im a max combat pure, I see most people around my level(123-126) are usually nice and respectful. With the occasional person in full rune that wants to attack other max combat pures in monk robes.

Here in TIF most people are questing/skilling/monster hunting tools (big generalization). In RSC you can find all the pking tools. You'd probably fit in better there.

Well firstly pures dont all concentrate on combat in that way, I have seen pures with all quests except those in which give Defence (or past 52 prayer) also 99 smithing, 99 farmers, 80+ slayers/summoners and im not even looking.
