JoeDaStudd
Kill chaos druids or spectors for herbs then sell the pots you make and the herbs you can't use to buy more supplies. Sy_Accursed
You cant level herblore without spending tbh because herbs + seconds + vials < pot value About the only way to break even or make some money is to self harvest all your herbs and seconds Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Jaffy1
Surely you get lots of herbs from combat? I leveled up most my herblore (currently almost 61) with herbs I got from combat. If you absolutely want to do it the cheapest way, go kill Chaos Druids for herbs or just bank every herb you get as a drop from whatever you kill. Abberant Spectres and Turoths are fair herb droppers too. Also I'm sure you got plenty of seed drops, so go farm yourself herbs too! Supercompost is a must. Check on the patches every now and then if you feel the need. Gather the supplies yourself, I'm sure you know how. Buy the vials in the Shilo Village general store for 5 Gp each. Oh, and I'm sure you know that if you use two potions on eachother they fill the vials to the max? If you for example use a strength potion (3) on a strength potion (3), you'll get a strength potion (4) and strength potion (2). Keep in mind that vials filled to 4 sell best. Tip.It Website Crew Leader[hide=Quotes]I love it how Jafje comes outa nowhere and answers my questionsHehe now we know what real life does...drugs, drugs, more drugs. I disagree with him on making the vials - against a 5pg ea cost that's a waste of crafting xp (should craft glass objects which get more xp per item). The only cost effective ways of getting herbs are: 1. Intensive Herb Farming (all five patches - don't bother with non-Herb patches) 2. Combat (Chaos Druids in Yanille Dungeon are good or Aberant Specs for higher lvl herbs) 3. Managing Thy Kingdom used to be not too bad from a cost perspective but i haven't compared cost of it to herbs for a while... 4. Go for Sinister Keys for light relief (or higher lvl herbs) if you have the agility for it. 5. Use Macaws as your familiar of choice. Buying all seconds and vials as well will mean you more or less break even. I did (1), (2) and (3) in combination to 83. Only buy herbs if you're willing to spend for xp. Zaaps1
There's no way to escape from spending in Herblore. Even if you gather the herbs and seconds yourself, you're paying in potential money since it's a better idea to make money then spend it rather than DIY. ~It's Super Effective! I agree making vial sucks but the guy I quoted said the CHEAPEST way. No-one can dispute that to do herblore the cheapest way possible free vials are better than 5gp ea vials Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
ovorette
Except that, and Zaaps1 will get a kick out of this coming from me, molten glass sells for 424gp on the GE (not suggesting you would buy the glass to make vials). So you are paying much more than 5gp to make the vials yourself.
Sy_Accursed
it depends how u view spending and loss to me if i spend 0gp to get a molten glass then make it into a vial i have spent/lost 0gp to get tht vial. As i nvr sold the molten glass i nvr had the 400gp its worth so i haven't lost it. Lunar_Drifter
Either way you shake a stick at it, you could have had ~80 vials for the price of one if you would have sold your molten glass instead of making it into a vial.
