iPod Protection?

I wanna get this in before anyone else does :P:

Protecting your iPod starts with yourself! :D

Basically what I mean is, don't run with it in your hand, don't put it in pockets with keys, basic common sense stuff put it will help to keep it in pristine.

A simple iSkin can help it give bounce-back-ability. Here's a screen protector too: http://www.iskin.com/shades.html

I'd go with the iSkin, especially now that they have wheel protectors as well. I have one for my mini and I love it. The screen protector has a few scratches in it, but the iPod underneath is pristine as the day I bought it. Except for maybe a little dirt that worked it's way under the skin, but that can be quickly cleaned off.

You can only get them online.. and I don't know of any other cases that offer as much protection as they do..

What's wrong with ordering them online?

Because no one in my immediate family has a credit card. But I see you can pay by check or money order..

And what do you guys recommend I do in the mean time to protect it, until I receive these products?

I went and got some of those palm pilot screen protectors and put them on the screen and scroll wheel (it still works after you put it on). I should have put them on the back too, but I thought the skin I had would work for that. It didn't, because whenever dirt gets in there and you take the skin off you have a scratch. Mine's pretty scratched up and it ALWAYS has the skin on it unless I have it charging. Oh, and don't charge with the skin on, the head might cause the sides to pop out which isn't too good.

I'm glad I could help before :)

In the mean time, I know it's an old cliche, but you could wrap it in cotton wool :P Basically, just take extra care what you put next to it in your pockets, don't leave it balancing on a table or something as well.

You could just take some kitchen roll and wrap it in that to prevent scratches (Remember to take it out though before washing >.<)

I was wondering, Im thinking of getting an Ipod but the problem is my computer is a bit old(not ancient but old) so it doesnt have any USB2.0 ports or firewire ports to plug in an Ipod. Is there anywhere I could buy an adapter or something. I tried looking but all Ive found thus far is wireless USB2 networking adapters :? .

Sorry for going slightly OT.

EDIT - Is it actually possible to use an Ipod with a usb1.1 port??

Depending on your location I suppose. Tigerdirect or Newegg always have USB 2.0 cards for cheap, like $10 for 5 ports. Great deals. Thats what I did for my iPod, since transfering 1000 songs via usb 1.1 is amazingly slow. Bought a USB 2.0 card for $13 CAD on Tigerdirect.ca :P

When my friend got his, his iSkin hadn't arrived yet, so he brought it to school in a dust cloth  .

That worked but it is slightly impractical. My iSkin works perfectly, its definately worth the investment, the back of iPods looks really bad if you start scratching them.

And by the way, if you havent already i suggest you download iTunes from the apple website, and start putting your music on there, because it took me the better part of a day to fill up my mini from scratch.
