Hi, I have an iPhone. When I first bought it I synced it with my laptop, I formatted my laptop. Now I have downloaded all of my stuff trough the phone. quite recently I realised I would need to backup my phone so I downloaded iTunes onto my pc and plugged my phone in.

All my apps and music I want to view them through iTunes. So far

I've backed up my Phone and istalled 3.0 software.

Help please.

When you upgrade to 3.0 it wipes your songs and the backup doesn't keep them. It only saves the contacts, messages, email settings and so on. Not the music, videos or podcasts.

You'll need to redownload the songs from either iTunes or recopy them via iTunes to your iPhone.

I still need to get around to copying my music back (backing up, downloading the software and jailbreaking take a while).

No, if you have a legit iPhone running through AT&T updating software shouldn't delete your music from your iPhone.

Somewhere around the bolded area you lost me. You've backed up your iPhone through iTunes and have installed the 3.0 software. Now you want to import your music and apps that are on your iPhone to iTunes? Your apps should automatically import to iTunes when you sync up your iPhone but iTunes' does not offer a way to import from any device thats connected to it.

I'm pretty sure I know what he means. He downloaded his music off iTunes through his phone. He can't view them because he removed all of his songs from his laptop.

iTunes should transfer purchased items onto your computer from your iPhone, but you'll need to authorize the computer through iTunes by going to the "Advanced" drop-down menu. enter your iTunes e-mail and password, or play a purchased song in the library to get the same authorization request.

Hope this helps.
