I know this is probably not the best time to suggest a new subforum due to the upcoming change in forum software thing, but if I don't say this now I'll probably forget =P I think it's pretty self explanitory... it would be a subforum in off topic (maybe general discussions?) that would be similar to the runescape help and advice forum, but you would ask for help/give advice about things that happen in real life. I would definitely use this and I think many others would as well. As far as I know there is nothing like this right now... if there is, please give me a link and lock this :wall:

Why not just create a topic or possibly a sticky for everyone to ask for real life advice. There's already one for relationship advice so perhaps one for everything else could be added. I think a forum may be a little too much as from what I can see there aren't really a lot of help topics cluttering up the Off Topic forum.

Tell me, why do you think there's a need for such thread at all? Such threads have always been posted in OT already, and there aren't so many that we would need a sticky. Or maybe I'm missing your point; what kind of questions would get in there, according to you?

I dare say a fair chunk of the sub forum would be filled with homework help.

Maybe a 'general' sticky. For any (appropriate) questions that you feel like asking, could be related to homework. I often see threads made just for one question to do with homework, they always get locked though.

I don't know it could be helpful.

Best place to buy relentless energy drinks (fruit variety) in the UK?

 

Are there any vegetarian only takeways near me?

 

How would I go about modding a RC car with a wireless camera?

 

Any good fast recipes using x ingredients?

 

How do you make those little boxes or boats out of a piece of paper?

I've always thought this could be a good idea, and it would de-clutter the main OT forum. Move all the random stickies ('I want a girlfriend', rl pics, pics of pets, your desktop) that have to do with RL and make it 'Real Life Help and Advice' or something similar. Also you could put blogs there. (although with the new forum software you won't need a topic for your blog)

Well, there's already a successful thread that encompasses your idea, so I wouldn't say it's dumb. It just would have been too much to have made a whole sub-forum for it.
