First of all, don't expect a whole list of heavy metal. This is ultimately a list of my favorite rock songs, in no particular order. Music ranges from light rock to alternate rock to rock n' roll to heavy rock to metal to heavy metal. Songs come from 60's to present day.

Most of these songs are good. Some totally suck though. Sabotage has no thought to it at all. Significant lack of the Beatles. And 'Land of Confusion' is originally by GENESIS, Disturbed covered it, their cover is good but Genesis' music video is better (In Flames also covered it; their version is very death-metal-y)
