I HAVE AN EXAM ON MONDAY DAMNIT AND I HAVEN'T DONE ANY REVISION AT ALL.

Not sure how I'll do my exams, but I've never prepared anything for my tentams. I'm sure you'll do alright.

I've never revised, and I've done pretty well so far, but still.

Star trek online to stay on the same port for more than 5 seconds when it works and less than 5 hours when it does! Damn only 100 ports out of 500...1 in 5 chance, and it seems impossible

To drop kick tthe Star Trek online server. 1 in 5 chance my foot! 5 days, 5 18 minute periods of activity before they switched ports! 5 8 Am starts to deal with the damned firewall!

 

Seriously. Worst setup ever. At least with Runescape you knew where you stood...when you logged on you were probably going to be able to play for more than 18 minutes before finishing in one area and beiing forced to take the rest of the day off!

 

Can you imagine trying to play RS where you need a different port everytime you use a ladder, walk more than 500 paces, enter a new area or flipping get a cut scene! And if you get a duff connection you are screwed for the next 6 or 8 hours, and if you fail again you are screwed for the next 16 or 14!

Seriously pushes the tolerable bounderies I am willing to go to....

Talk to some of the guys who run the server at your dorm. They might be able to put you on the ok list.

Nah its run by the University...and they have already said no. So I am circumnavigating the firewall...With a 68% success rating. Problem is a failure means Star Trek Online is Star Trek Offline for hours.

Sides its spread across 500 ports...and we get 100 unblocked. The Answer? Set up four computers(The max allowed) with different ports allowed. So now I have 320 unblocked(Due to update servers and stuff that is constant) And best of all it doesn't cost any extra because all I have to do is change the Mac Address!

 

I fear, well unless I can convince someone else to let me use their login details, that this is the best it is gonna get....Fortunately I might know just such a person. :thumbsup:
