whether you can stay there the whole task is very dependent on your stats.

I'm the kind of person that leaves when i run out of super sets, so i was not able to finish an entire task without banking once before the herblore update.

Now with overloads, super prayer potions, and a bunyip pouch or two it's easy

if you dont use super sets, bring 2-3 bunyip pouches and you can easily camp an entire task away.

Melee armours work, but i hear that the waterfiends' ranged attack still rips through even at high defense levels.

Karils works very very well, I suppose you lose out on the prayer bonus of Veracs though.

prayer is by no means NECESSARY but unless you have a unicorn, you just wont be able to bring enough food.

so i would highly recommend it, but if you're high enough level you can afford to turn it off when your full health.

84 atk

85 str

81 def

70 summ, 73 pray, 80+ range and pray

I went there with veracs and mage pray, since i remember doing something similar before. I didn't waste a bunyip, but i ran out of food very fast. I will use bunyip if i can get a good enough defence to actually make it worthwhile.

This is basically what i figured, but wasn't shure of. I dunno about the herblore update, so i'll have to look at that.

Try using this for armour...These are my preferences.

Helm-Armadyl>karils coif>Neitiznot helm

Body-Armadyl>Karils>Black D'Hide

Legs>Armadyl>Karils>Black D'Hide Chaps>Verac' Skirt

Boots>Dragon Or Snakeskin

Ammy>Fury>Glory>Strength

MUST USE CRUSHING ATTACKS

Weapon>Saradomin Sword>Zamorakian Spear> Any good weapon with crushing attacks

Mainly you want to have an awsome magic/range defence and a good fast effective crushing weapon.

Higher Defence with better magic defence could save you a lot to eat if not praying. Or having a Bunyip.

I hope you realize that their range attack is still mage based, so high mage defence armour IS A MUST! Also, if you pray (Which is recommended) it's better to pray range since they use that attack more and it is both more accurate and more powerful. Also, Kent's Guide to Sumoning here has a section devoted to how to kill waterfiends efficiently. Best of luck  .

Armadyl lowers your crush accuracy, I would not recommended it at all. Karil's is the best.

Snakeskin boots only give +1 magic defense, practically no point in wearing them

armadyl is a horrible idea. defense never outweighs offense when slaying. Food is cheap. I would never sacrifice my killing rate over a small amount of defense.

PS: that info on magic based ranged attacks from aspeeder, thanks... i can't believe i never noticed that

Hope that makes your trips go a lot smoother :P . Also, I forgot to mention, you should bring swallow whole scrolls when you use a bunip (Always until 88 summoning in other words) because they drop raw fish often so you can save on pray points and lengthen your trips.

Along with this, if you're slaying the slayer helm is a must. If not then the Helm of Neitznot is better as it gives some str and some prayer bonus.
