Training Tips?

Featured Replies

I'm training one of my old accounts into a ranged tanker (90+ range 70-75 def.)

I'm doing this mostly for kicks tbh.

I'm not sure where to train range really, every place I try seems to be pretty slow exp.

Stats are currently:

75 Range

71 Def

75 Hp

Any and all help appreciated. <3:

What are your cash constraints? You can get loads of fast exp using red chinchompas on zombie monkees under Ape Atoll, or Nechryael in the Chaos Tunnels.

If not, I recommend just going to Sumona and getting slayer tasks from her. You'll level slayer, which is a great cash maker, and in the process get tons of rangeable tasks that go quickly.

If you refuse to slay, I always trained range on blue dragons in Taverly Dungeon (get 70 agility!). They're fast, weak to range, and drop loads of profitable items. With current prices of D Bones, you won't be able to help yourself from getting rich.

I've gone through the hassle of slayer on my main, dont really feel like doing it on this "pure" too lol.

As for blue drags, their some of the worst exp I've been told.

Is there anywhere where it's fun to train range and you still get reasonable exp per hr? 30 - 40k exp/hr is fine as long as its pretty fun to do.

As for cash, currently sitting on around 20-30mil on the account. Don't want to chin though because it's such a waste.

Cheers for any help!

Looking at the stats advertised in your sig, I'd have to think you'd know your way around the bow by now for what -you- consider fun. Blues are slow, but I loved the clues they dropped, and all that money.

Lots of the more "fun" and rangeable tasks have significant slayer requirements.

- Cave Horrors

- Dust Devils

- Kurask

- Turoth

- Nechryael

All very rangeable, and plus broad bolts are still perhaps the single most effective tool for ranging with reasonable cost.

Great speed can be achieved through yaks, ogres, etc., but I find those horribly boring.

Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)

Dagannoth kings drops: 73

Barrows item count: 51

GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)

Whips: 4

Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

Ya seriously just do avianies. Training isn't fun, I don't care what you do lol.

If you're looking for speed, do Yaks... The quest is easy enough and its not too hard to find a non-crowded world during the day.

I'd also recommend getting void. Its well worth it if you're training on monsters with low attack/defence.

I'll try ogres for a bit.

Was going to start avies at 80-85 range because it's so crowded and people often crash you when you finnaly get an empty(er) world.

And as for me knowing what to do because of my main, I've only recently come back to RS lol.

Yeah i was going to direct you to my guide, but i see its already been done :P

Aviansies are the best way to go.

I'd stick with avianses, fire giants, and depending on the cash supply, gray chinchompas at ape atoll
