Why s it so highly suggested when I can get a better crush bonus with Dragon Mace/Unholy book? I'm not going to go change, because i'm cheap, but I just want to know why it's the first weapon (or Saradomin Sword) on everyone's mind...

im not sure, but i'll be cheap with you i used a d mace and a rune defender :grin: on my last slayer assignement down there.

Significantly faster (atttack speed and kills per hour wise), stronger and more accurate than cheap alternatives. Your combination focuses on prayer bonus, but you are actually losing money by using it. Because your accuracy is so much lower, you use more prayer pot doses per waterfiend, even though your prayer drain rate is lower.

 

If you're not going to let people convince you, at least sub out the unholy book for a rune defender (+18 crush +5 strength. Your wasting your time if you don't take it up).

To be honest, I never thought of the Rune Defender. Thanks for that.

Zammy spear and sara sword have the same attack speed as a whip, so they're the best crushing weapons. (The sara sword is slightly better because it trains strength with its crush attack.) If you use a d mace or anchor or dbaxe etc, you'll be hitting significantly slower, and you won't get kills as quickly.
