Hegemony Argument Thread

No, those are my terms, if I am going to mod and not play then I want Dusty out of it from the beginning. I am not having people rally round him for being a....stubborn old mule....time and time for standing up to me for not allowing someone to activate god mode.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I'm going to break this down as best I can.

Planet Types:

Arctic

Earthlike

Oceanic

Gaseous

Mountainous

Volcanic

Resources:

Earthlike: +20% to population growth (farming)

Oceanic: +20% to planetary construction (oil)

Mountainous: +20% to ship production (metal)

No other planets have special bonuses.

Ships per planet per year: 2 heavy battleships

Research is whatever the moderator deems fair at whatever rate the moderator deems fair.

I'm assuming, you can make smaller ships at faster rates?

Well I was clarifying, since it might be the original post.

That reminds me, we've been talking about it a bit, but what is the verdict on aliens? I think we have to submit that to the moderator before the game begins.

Aliens/Humans...they are just words. As long as your race(another word...workforce-no, word...adjective, there we go) As long as your adjective doesn't give you some advantage which breaks the game then I don't mind. I reserve the right to trim your adjectives back.

I think we should have more Urk-Orz style conflicts. Sometimes it feels good to work with your old enemies once in a while to fight a common threat, before a new galactic war springs up when you fight for the plunder. :P

Yeah, that seems fair. I think that I should randomly select one of you to become the alien invader(your own adjective would be stuck in a bubble or something), since me doing it runs into all of the problems from before.

Just have the moderator make situations that are bound to cause conflicts between players.

(Retech are you updating manifest soon?)

Playing an alien might be fun, but the moderator would obviously have to moderate the alien invader too. Also, there's the issue that once the alien invader is defeated, the person won't be able to play anymore.

I am a pacifist by nature and I have all the expansionist tendancies of a paper plate, mostly I want a walled room and a machine gun to stop attackers. Preferably in the middle of a wasteland.

-Waves hand in front of Archi-

Remember the time when I betrayed both sides of the conflict repeatedly, before invading Japan (in Hegemony one)? Good times.

Well, if Retech wants to be the Hoard Master from time to time then I don't mind that. But I think one hoard should last a week or two...plus fortnight to repair and fight over the new order of things... So it would probably be monthly.

Perhaps a good way to do it would be that you would give me a set amount of forces, a set objective (win more territory, kill lots of stuff, etc), and a "hit list." I was wondering if I could still play (and have a starting disadvantage) at the nice perk of not being attacked by my alien self.

How about Dusty plays the aliens, if he wants to?

Aha! The perfect solution!

He can't abuse the system with the forces Archi gives him, and he has a habit of steamrolling people. Great idea Rocco!

We're not arguing, we're parlaying.

Anyway, if we're playing something based on the real world, Ron Paul should be president of the United States.
