Oh, I remember someone saying about you getting a headstart, but oh well.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

I came in after you guys, but it wasn't by much.

I might have had a legitimate chance at winning hegemony V1, but I started screwing around with wormholes and stuff.

Then again, the alternative is going uberdefense and building a lightyear wide wall around my entire system made of Ares cannons and goalkeeper railguns, creating a standoff where nobody wins.

Because I love defense.

Ross the only way you would've held out there indefinitely is if you decided to drop all your restrictions on your mechos and go for the ubergamebreaking race (as in, producing a billion mechos a day that work for free and build ships).

Otherwise, eventually I would've broken through and Little Doctor'd the planet.

A small bird sung on a branch, tweeting happily. It tended to its small chick, there eyes seemed to glisten with love as she fed them.

I raised my hand to see if I could hit the bird with the card.

"Thwck!"

The bird's head fell to the floor, the chicks screaming for there mother.

........

Anyway, Ross you did not do that you attacked me straight away but Dusty defended me - you only started discussing after your second attack.

Now, you didn't and couldn't do anything - Dusty had to.

And don't talk to me about logic, Mr Phlebontium.

Also, Dustys right - you couldn't keep defence forever - the best defence is offence.

I beg to differ. The best offence is defense. You wait until they've exhausted resources attacking you, then launch a huge attack upon their weakened state when they do not expect it.

Hex, you're wrong. We gave a lot of warning, and that is the simple truth. This conversation is clearly going in circles, so whether you accept that or not, I shan't respond.

Also, you're using phlebotinum in the wrong sense. Hegemony doesn't have a "plot" as such, so phlebotinum doesn't work.

I fail to see how you could have exhausted the resources of an empire that held like...8 different systems and 50-60 different planets.

And Ross, V1 had a plot. It was trying to stop the spread of authoritarian imperialism and good vs evil.

Evil won though :D

Ross transformed all of his humans into hive minded machines.

I think that is pretty evil.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

No you're still chaotic neutral.

Actually, my society is between Lawful Neutral and my personal alignment is Chaotic Neutral.

I'm not sure if you were going by player personalities or how our societies are run, though.

My society is definitely Lawful Neutral because of the strict semi-fascist laws and punishment, yet I typically leave others alone and don't go on some random genocide in another country.

I went off of player personalities and how they deal with foreign policy.

Economic Left/Right: -0.38

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 6.72

I think some of my anti-corporatist bias drove the chart further toward the economic Left. I'm just barely over that line, though. I'm also a few notches below Hitler and Stalin in terms of authoritarianism.

Interestingly enough, the compass said that I'm about as authoritarian as Margaret Thatcher, maybe a little bit more authoritarian.

(Note, this doesn't represent my real political views.)

Dusty, what do you come out as? (As far as Terran Federation)

Cool.

Oh, and, Sere, please, stop posting fascist crap.

It's roleplay.

Is it offending you? If so, then I'll lay down on it.

Besides, it's not like the British fascists really did anything (other than being jerks during rallies). I guess that it is such a touchy subject because of Hitler and the Nazis, even though Hitler was really the only fascist to murder millions of people. The other fascists were more tolerant towards Jews and just liked to have totalitarian rule, which is bad in itself, but it isn't something new. Napoleon and other ruthless dictators did it, yet they're considered heroes. I find that pretty interesting. Even Stalin, a man responsible for many times more deaths than Hitler, isn't such a touchy subject. It's okay to post Hammers and Sickles and advocate Communism yet it's something horrible if you talk about fascism, even though the two are very similar (although their economical philosophies are slightly different).

I'm not a fascist by all means (I'm even libertarian), but I think that it's interesting that people act so strangely around fascism yet the many other dictatorships of the past are almost acceptable.

This game I might be closer to chaotic good. What with actually fighting people and such.

First game I purposely had the only unaltered humans in the game (I think), with no genetic enhancements. Actually that's wrong, I had one Ultra-Human that cost me 10,000 kg of Duna to create. But I never got to use him in battle. Once again, Dusty didn't win V1. We were both in it at the end, but Archi locked it. In all likelihood, he never would have defeated me, and I wouldn't have defeated him either. Hell, at the end, I still controlled 2 continents on earth.

We've been over this before Doom. I controlled South America and North America, your people had just retreated underground where they would've either starved to death, or been killed when they opened up the door to pop out for a quick smoke.

And I never measured victory as 'kill everything that isn't TFed' more so as 'Have everything under the control of the TFed', which was achieved, since you were content to have your people run away for an eternity. It's like calling a battle you lost in a draw since your entire army wasn't killed, some managed to flee and get away. 'Tis just silly.

I don't remember you ever attacking the Americas. Even if you did, it was all just untamed lands, similar to pre-colonial times, as I left the land above untouched for close to a century, and it would have been difficult to make use of, much less invade. And it was more just like my people would evolve past needing planets, and just live on a flotilla of ships. It wasn't so much permanently running, we'd either return, or find a new area.

Plus, my fleet was still much larger than yours, and there was no possible way you could have been building more ships than me without going against the system's rules.

I did. And to say that a couple of trees and ferns would be a hindrance to the world's largest super power is just ridiculous. It would be permanently running, because you'd have a fleet 10x your size permanently following.

It was the same size, at the time. However, since you were running away, you weren't producing any more ships, while I having control of pretty much everywhere, was able to produce an insane amount per year (like...10,000 or something) following the production rules to the letter.
