Best slayer gear

Whats the best slayer gear for me I have 21 mill but I need to buy cannon and cballs. Just got full guthans.

What other barrows armour should I buy I want to mix and match not just full armour of a particular one.

 

Levels 90 attack, 94 str, 87 def

Slayer helm/black mask

Fury

Barrows melee top - Prossy - dhide

Veracs skirt - prossy - dhide

Barrows gloves

Dragon boots

Ardy hard cape/fire cape/99 trimmed cape/god cloak (fire is the best).

 

Weapons/shields should be rune defender, anti-dragonfire shield whip, DDS, EE (if you have it) and leaf bladed sword.

 

The helm, necklace, boots, gloves and cape never changes only the top/bottoms and weapon/shield.

Summoning level? If you have 68+ then you can sell Guthans unless you plan on using it else where (e.g. GWD and DKs).

 

If not then use Guthans Platebody and Chainskirt as your main armor pieces. Keep the Helm and Spear in your inventory.

 

Black Mask/Slayer Helm

Fury > Glory

Fire Cape > Ardougne Cloak 3 > Skillcape (t) > Skillcape = Obsidian Cape

Beserker > Warrior (If you have access to the imbued rings use them.)

Whip + Rune Defender for most tasks. Sara Sword and/or Zamorakian Spear for those special tasks you need it on.

 

Proselyte Chest and Legs for prayer tasks. Karils > Black D'hide for those tasks you want magic defense on.

 

If you DO have 68+ Summoning then after you sell Guthans (if you do so) buy Torags Plate Body and Legs or Verac's Skirt instead.

If you have the money left over after buying the so far mentioned gear, I would buy a ZS for waterfiends. It's annoying to have to borrow one every time and it looks like it'll be within your budget. After that buy karil's if you have the extra money, at least buy the skirt, its only 600k.

As said above, in addition to karil body and skirt, it also helps with ring of slaying in inventory or canifis portal to access slayer tower

There are too many tasks where you need to heal, but guthans is pointless with them.

Its better to heal with food then take twice as long to kill 3 to 5 of the task monster every 20 or so kills.

 

Like Cptbaker08 said once your 68 summoning guthans is pretty much useless.

Since it wasn't stated he is L68 summon, I'd just assume he isn't.

I would do like stated before, just melee in guthans while wearing slay helmet, one hand weapon (whip/d scim) & rune defender.

Apart from some stupid comments from other slaying people ("don't u know guthan body + skirt isn't the best def-statted-barrow armor???") I find this a good armor.

Cheap and don't need food.

 

When I see reactions like 'what to do when u got blue dragons?' I roll my eyes and think "Why are there such good range spots, if you don't use them?"...

Way more chance u are the fastest to shoot one, since with melee you sometimes start running around in circles not hitting a thing...

 

Don't waste cash on overpriced items like bandos... Just invest in decent items, but no need to waste all cash on the gear...

Cannon will speed u up way more than any armor...

Bunyip

Enhanced Excalibur

Banking (underrated, usually takes very little time)

Bone to peaches tabs (also underrated)

Food

That's totally wrong :) You just use guthans for 2-3 hits till u get +25 or something then switch back to other gear. What's slow about that? I'd love to see how u could bank in that time :rolleyes:

Guthans heals maybe 1 out of every 3 or 4 hits. If you do 15 damage on average, let's say, that means it heals 4-5 hp per hit on average. Meaning in order to heal 20 monkfish worth of hp, you need to hit with guthans 75 times.

 

Again, awful. Other options are way faster.

Well, consider that the most food I have to use in ANY task is about 10 (killing Nechryaels in multi-combat with a combat familiar), I'd say it's overkill. When I have a healing familiar out, I don't need any at all. You're far better off taking advantage of the black mask's effect and using food to heal than sacrificing to heal with Guthan's.

just wanna mention that monk robe leggings are pretty underrated

same prayer bonus as prossy leggings and weigh less

not that ur gonna be getting hit while ur praying anyways.

 

I guess if you are getting it, prossy would be better if ur getting hit by melee/range

and monkrobe bottoms would be better for magic

Wth, there's only one slayer monster where I take full inv of food and it's Aberrants. All other creatures so far demand no food at all when taking guthans. Nechs/Gargoyles are the perfect example.

I only wear my guthans 3-4 times per assignment... No id what def level u got, but I seem to manage perfectly...

Completely missing the point.. the point is, any time you are using guthans is a waste of time because there are better ways to heal.

Guthans is pointless for slayer just use food for faster exp.

 

Summons and sgs or i suppose the enhanced excalibur should be enough. after that just use food. if you can use a combat familar instead of healer, specials and food should be enough for any task. not really worth using guthans anywhere slayer related imo
