Hi everyone, just wondering whether the + 100 bonus really make a difference over magic short and rune arrows, in terms of damage and accuracy for training use, and whether there are any hints about tracking how many shots fired in first bow to avoid degrading both bows (lol).

Crossbows are stronger and faster, the only useful normal bow is Dark Bow for speccing during pking.

Paw claw, have you tested crystal bows vs broad bolts? I dont think so.

MSB + addy arrows = better than crystal? just comparing the price about 180 ea after fully degraded?

They usually degrade after 10 minutes of use, depends if you use accurate or fast. Crystal bow was good before ava's accumulator, now it's only good in places where you can't use the accumulator (castle wars)

Its actually 1 bar faster then crossbows....

Its only really useful at DK's now since cwars got ava's device.

Broad bolts are still cheaper than crystal bow though even without accumulator. I'm not sure if crystal bow is better though.

i remember seeing a comparison back in the day that msb with rune arrows was worse than crystal bow.

I destroyed/dropped the crystal seed once my bow got transformed after fully using it up.

While wearing holy zamorak book it's better than crystal bow imo...

The best way to keep track of how many shots have bee fired is to count them. It shouldn't be hard, since you're unlikely to be training on something that requires extreme attention. If you want to make it easier for your brains, you can use a calculator and dial Ans+1 and on every shot just press Exe or = or whatever it is in your calculator.

 

If your only options are crystal bow or msb+rune arrows, I would probably go for the msb+rune arrows, because you will be able to camp longer, and if you're not willing to count the shots, it'll be cheaper and more time efficient in the long run.

 

I personally would go with the rune crossbow, because it just feels the most comfortable, since there's no need to hazzle with realoading the crystal bows every now and then, and mostly Ava's accumulator collects most of the bolts shot. Compared to msb, if you're training on something that you need defence against, with rune crossbow you can wield a shield, or then just wear a Book of Zamorak.

 

If you've got training to do, why don't you try out the different weapons and compare the hourly experience points gained of each weapon and find the best weapon for you to use.
