I have just came back from a very long break in runescape and i have noticed the great increase of people who use "nerd" as an insult. Most of the time they don't even know the person it's like oh that guy has a 99 skill i better call him a nerd... Why out of all words nerd? it doesn't even make sense, the only thing you can really tell by first looking at other players is that they play runescape, if this makes them a nerd than so are you...

 

Seriously why would you even use that as an insult?

Just say you prefer to be called an intellectual badass.

Insult? I take this as a compliment. All this means is that you're smart and like odd-ball nerdy things.

 

So next time you get called a nerd, thank them!

 

It's even funnier if they use harsh insults on you then you thank them for it.

I think my point was missed, I realize it isn't a very offensive word, but the way its used you can tell it is meant to be.

But when it is used the people look incredibly stupid, and it frustrates me they think they are awesome for using it.

Firstly, there is no need to quote the post above you.

 

Secondly, your admitting you aren't superior, so you're trying to turn my previous posts against me? How amusing. If doing that is the only thing that will shut you up about your supposed superiority, and your need for a ego boost by feeling better than someone, then I believe it done it's job well.

 

Last of all, your statement at the end there makes little sense.

Haha. I am saying that you criticise me for responding to the people who say nerd, but if i do a very similar thing (i troll'd ya), you respond repeatedly. Hence, hypocrisy, thy name is you.

It's not smart, or funny to attempt to troll people, I've come across people with the obvious need to be superior, therefore, there are those who need to act it.

People use the word "nerd" like the word "noob." It's a generic internet insult. It often happens because they are mad and just using the internet as a source to vent their fustrations. Often people are called a "nerd" for having high stats by someone with lower stats, quite often due to subconcious jealousy. They feel insecure in the face of a richer or higher leveled person, and justify that by simply deciding that the person is a nerd, or any other insult of your choice.

 

And the battle of egos has begun. Sworddude and Gudi both seem to be in a battle to prove themself superior to one another, or more specifically prove the other inferior. Potaeto, Potahto.

 

It's simple human nature to desire to feel superior to your better man. Both Gudi and Sworddude, in my opinion, are proving it by their actions. And before someone accuses me of that, I'll admit that I enjoy feeling superior if and when I can. But who doesn't? Why else do people keep up with the Joneses?
