December 18, 200916 yr the brothers don't count as kc anymore i been useing 18 and 22 and i got ahrim hood t body and guthan skirt in like less than 20 trips got the t body on the 22 btw gl hope this helped

December 18, 200916 yr When ever I did barrows (tword the end of my playing carrier) I got a kill count of 12-15. I tried to kill one of ever creature. IE spider, slugs, rats, skeltons. Rarely did I go over 20+ and less the 10. On average with this, I got a drop once every 12 runs. Hope that helps a little. Yes. The monsters in the crypt only contribute to blood/mind/chaos runes, bolts, gold etc. Just stick with it and a barrows item will come eventually. @Trade_With

Yup, back when g spears were 6m each (I think it was like a year ago) I got back to back spears with only killing the brothers. 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

December 19, 200916 yr In my opinion the best killcount to get is 9 as it makes you eligible for all rune types and bolt racks. The only thing you are not able to get are dmeds and half keys which are not common or worth much anyway.
December 19, 200916 yr I use the unlucky number 13 hehe, 2 spears + many more items :) Lol same here... Used to do barrows very intensively but now the value has gone down so much it's not worth it anymore imo...I just sell my p pots & runes now and do other things to make money... 2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)

And ty all for your answers and infos :razz: I assume everyone that is replying with I get 13 killcount or 1263634623 killcount is actually referring to the old style in that they are including the 6 brother kills. I used to get 12 or 13 but I really don't see any reason to and it actually speeds your trips up a lot to only get 9 (6+3). I can do 10 chests per hour using my method, and a lot of the time I cut out was thanks to reducing my kill count amount.
December 19, 200916 yr Kill Count doesn't affect the rate of a barrow item drop, it only affects the quantity and quality of runes/bolt racks/coins/key halves gotten in the chest (Not sure if they affect the chances for D med or not, but my guess is not)

I believe a guy got max kc once but he didnt see any effects on his drops as they were fairly low.
