Manhattan is 59KM wide...

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Hmm well I think at the very least they will have one [bleep] of a time coming home if they destroy exile (an eye for an eye) because of the volcano that would exist there... On a side note if they sent say... 1,000 soldiers in I would not be seen as well... I don't really want to die right now. If it is only 500 however and people attack at a range then we have a rather good chance of destroying them...

Okay then... I think it would be a good idea for just about everyone to cut ~100 meters of dry space around there places of housing because the first thing I am going to do when the scouts get clear of the woods is to start a forest fire.

Dungeoneering will be running tonight, for like 8 hours or so (Huzzah for Fridays). I have the updated stat sheet now, so yeah.

Now to clear things up.

Hakon, your castle is not 59km wide. That would be utterly impossible to navigate, and you would get lost every time you went there. 3-4km is a good size, 5-6 if you want it really big.

Jen, they have catapults, and could easily start firing flaming garbage or something, so don't think you're invincible if you hole up in your tower.

Perhaps sending one of you to scout and take the opposing armies measure would be a good idea?

I think I will be the most prepared for the job... crystal to make me completely invisible without fail and without people being able to see through it

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Most of the width is the piers, they are flat and mostly straight inside. The main tower is about 500 m wide and other towers are dotted over around the middle of it all and each of the 5 piers.

Anyways would you care to die for my thunderstorm familiar, it was supposed to be summoned last night.

You're asking for a person as a sacrifice?

>.> Just kill some guy from somewhere..... It doesn't need to be one of us

He means die as in dice.

I guess I can, but you wont be gaining xp yet mind. Plus, it wont be a familiar, it'll be a minion (There's a big difference). And level 2 seems fairly low for summoning something that powerful, so you'll need to get a pretty high roll.

Sure you want me to roll now?

Nah, a familiar can't be obtained through simple summoning, something special has to happen or you must obtain it from an event. Or use a special item or something.

The ivory tower could help with that, assuming it doesn't get destroyed.

Also, Mather, I get the feeling that you're going to try to stop anybody from attacking the thundercloud because it's a gaseous being. Just a pre-emptive strike, arrows and stuff will still hit it, since they can hit the life crystal.

Edit: I can't seem to find a life crystal in your inventory. Can you point me towards a post which says you have one?

Strangely enough.. Mather has it right, a familiar can be summoned from nothing but it has to cost you your own life force... thats how a familiar works in myth

They drain their masters energy to get energy of their own, kind of like how we give our golems power... They can do most things... Including shape shift (But I guess thats only if they were summoned) and help cast spells.

They suck out your life force through a mark on your body that they make

It's a REALLY big shaft.

That's one myth concerning familiars. If I searched hard enough, I'm sure I could find a myth which stated ghosts were spirits of the dead amplified through use of bananas.

Point is, that isn't really how it's going to work here.

I see about the mixup between familiars and minions. But stronger minions do require a life crystal, and unless you want the stormcloud to be the same strength as a typical elemental (I assume you want it to be stronger) then you'll need a life crystal.

Well I still think its hard to summon one, you need the right materials and ritual for it... I'd imagine a mid level would be required.

Btw "materials" that could be used would be things like bones, blood, your own blood, flesh, crystals, certain potions... stuff like that (potion making is looking attractive lately to me)

It's a REALLY big shaft.

A cloud would be much more simple than an elemental as they occur naturally and the ingredients to make one already are where they are created. Anyways it's going tp suck power from other clouds and comsic radiation, etc. not only me, so it should be possible to make one. (Also it is basicly a vapour, lightning elemental as it is only going to eat, grow and strike enemies with thunderstorms.)

Can you please roll now?

Yeah, it seems a decent time to roll. You still have to bear in mind that it will be only slightly stronger than a normal elemental, with the small strength boost awarded for ingenuity. It will also still be able to be hit with arrows and physical attacks and the like. Although they may be weakened, they'll still hit, since otherwise you'd have an invincible minion.

You fail to summon a thundercloud.

You guys can start.

Sigh...

http://www.spooksbooks.com/downloads/book4.pdf (Random reading on Witches and Spooks)

I say I will be offline for 2 days and Mather tries to pull a coup d'états.

Summoning a Familiar usually involves a massive sacrifice, on the order of 30 levels for a level 50(Overall, not including double hearts and such), since they never die(Well they die and are resurrected) and can do anything that you can(All be in on a much smaller scale). Ares has one because random events conspired to give him one.

That said though, if he was to summon an elemental, and then go around collecting clouds he could make it bigger...but would lose control of it, since after doubling in size less than 50% knows who Hakon is. Run away!!!

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
