*trys to wake up*

"Does it have anything you invented? It would be interesting to learn of new techniques. Tell ya what: let me have a quick 20 second skim through the book, and if I see the title of anything interesting that I don't know yet, it's a deal. Kay?"

 

If the lich accepts, the Jen goes skimming through the book for interesting keywords. She isn't looking to really read anything, but to see if there's anything specific that's useful to her. Like (Summoning an ice minion) or (Freezing pillar).

Earth-

You fall into a coma.

 

Rocco-

You find a strange tower in the middle of the forest which you swear wasn't there yesterday.

 

Jen-

"Quite an untrustworthy little imp, aren't we? Very well"

He hands the book to you.

"Let's just say I've been betrayed by a certain Rocco too many times for my liking."

You spot words which interest you, but the lich slams the book because the 20 seconds is up. "So, what do you say?"

 

Rocco-

Stop ignoring storylines <_<

You find a camp of what look like merceneries.

 

Earth-

With difficulty. You fail.

"Hmmmm, I'll take it...on one condition. I would like to work with you in the future. Where are you headed now, and where will you be camping?"

 

After speaking with the Lich, Jen returns to her home and begins studying her new notebook.

*tries again to wake up*

"Perhaps." He takes the chain and sets off to his lair in the north.

You study the notebook. +1 ice magic. The book details how to create a magical ice prism, which seems interesting.

 

Rocco-

The mercenaries are surprised by the attack, and several of them are killed instantly. The others begin firing magic and arrows at you, and puncture the balloon. You parachute down.

+.1 fire, +.1 ballooning.

 

Earth-

You fail again.

At her home, Jen attempts to create a magical ice prism several feet away, around a snowman. (Is this like a prism you trap people in, crush people with, or is it more like a cardboard box that you can use. Basically, is it hollow or solid? Also, any special properties compared to regular ice?)

Icu has had far worse luck that you have had. Infact, most of us had. That's what happens when you get a bad roll though. You get used to it eventually.

Rocco-

The group spots the goblins, and proceeds to kill one and injure the other.

Rocco manages to kill a few more people, there are seven left, the two goblins kill another one. +.2 fire.

 

Jen-

You realise after completing the summoning ritual (Which is strange, since normally you wouldn't be able to) that the book detailed the creation of an icy Will o' Wisp, not a prism. The book seems to react with the casting of the spell and ink begins leaking from the centre of the page and obscuring the text.

 

Earth-

You wake up in a long tunnel. At least, you think it's a tunnel, due to the dots of light you can see in the distance of both sides (Lateral thinking puzzle, hurrah!)

Jen places the book carefully on the ground, before trying to remember exactly what she did in the ritual. Then she looks for the Will 'o wisp that she created.

"uhh... how did i get here?"

*walks forward, using his hammer to lightly test the walls*

The injured goblin uses his last ounce of strength to cast his most powerful fire blast. Rocco and the other two goblins spread apart so that they won't get overwhelmed and throw some fire blasts.

 

(FYI - Ranging in power from least to greatest:

Interesting system. After you get to the fire beam spamming point, what's there after that?

Jen-

It would appear the book was actually a reagent in the spell. The ice Wisp hovers in front of you.

 

Earth-

You find no walls.

 

Rocco-

The injured goblin is stabbed before he does anything. You kill another person, but recieve an arrow to the shoulder. The two goblins kill another two people, there are four left.

+.2 fire.

 

Umbra-

Surprisingly, you find nothing.

what! i thought i was in a tunnel!

*walks down the tunnel without walls*

(Is a reagent like the component of the spell, like the phoenix feathers were?)

 

Jen tries to will the Ice Wisp to float around in a circular pattern. This is to test if she has at least nominal control of the ice wisp. Then she sends a message to the Lich asking him what the ice wisp can do, since she's too lazy to walk there.

 

Afterwards, Jen attempts to create a rope out of water that can stay ropey without her concentration.

I check for tracks left by the survivors

Earth-

You appear to make no progress towards the dots of light.

 

Rocco-

You succeed in burning the people. +.2 nature, +.1 fire. The goblins fail to cast anything, but luckily move out of the way of any attacks.

 

Jen-

(Yeah, reagents take many shapes and forms, but they're just magical ingredients)

The Ice Wisp floats in a circle. The lich responds "Work it out yourself."

 

You fail to create a water rope.

 

Umbra-

There are no tracks left.

*looks for an easy wy out*
