You can attempt it, but quite a lot of the time you get an effect you don't really want. I tried changing into shadow, and I coulnd't interact with anything anymore so I had to die. I think Igos or someone tried turning something into a skeleton or something and got completely turned into one, I think they died and it went. Also I have solved that problem by going permanently thermal in one eye and normal in the other (I use an eye patch). Since it's all arbitary and there are no set rules, it's easy to be biased without knowing it. For example, if somebody else got a 13, I might say "Meh, you succeed, but not that well", but if I got the 13, I might say "13 is a success. Bleh."
