[Grim_]

Grim gets out and goes to the island taking the paddle with him. He climbs up the rope as fast as possible.

You begin to practice, until you realize that there is not a floor beneath you. Then you fall several yards, landing ontop of a tall humanoid figure with flowing robes and twin swords, who happens to be standing on a wide platform. You see Earth teetering on the brink of death, seeing a sphere of flying metal shards around the platform. You wonder how you landed here without dying from those same shards.

 

-Earth

 

You walk away from the edge of the platform, but you don't dare axe the figure with Rocco on top.

 

-Nex

 

You manage to stay in the air for twenty feet or so, but you don't manage to fly farther than that without feeling terrible. Your shoulders feel very sore. The spear doesn't seem improvable at your level.

The journey up seems quite a lengthy one. You manage to climb up a few feet, before a large creature jumps out of the water, brings the top of the rope plummeting into the cavern, before returning into the depths. The moaning grows louder, and you see dead hands appearing on the edges of the island.

[Earth]

i grab rocco off the figure, and i slash his head in. (the figure, not rocco. much as i'd like to)

[Grim_]

Grim attempts to blast them back with waves of fire and light. He then charges a geomancy spell.

[Earth]

rocco.. your on a liquid metal humanoid. it burnt my hands by jsut touching him. if you dont want to feel like youve been over done on and super hot BBQ, then i suggest getting off him. fire wont set him on fire either.

[Nexaduro]

I try to form an air/allomantic padding (like the orbital steel I created, I would be setting my armour to be attached to my body at a distance using magic, and there would be air cushions to lighten impact and keep the plating rigid when hit) inside my armour and thicken it at the shoulders, so that the metal wings only create stress on the armour and not my actual person. I try to enchant the armour/wings/shield like I did my orbs so that when part of it is disconnected I can locate it magically and retrieve it.

And did I need to use two life crystals to animate the wings, Retech?

[Retech]

-Earth

 

You fling Rocco off the figure and smash his head in with your axe. He retaliates by cutting both of your legs (below the knees) off, making you fall on Rocco.

 

-Grim

 

Your light magic doesn't seem to work, but the waves of fire force the creatures back into the water. They begin advancing again.

You don't manage to do any of that, because you are flung to the side by Earth. You recover and begin your cast, but you are again interrupted when Earth falls on you.

 

-Nex

 

You create the padding, but you're not sure how it'll work. You manage to put a homing signal on your items. (No, but I take it as a bonus)

[Earth]

[bleep].. i roll off rocco so he can do what he wants, and i try to heal my legs.

[Nexaduro]

Hehe, this reminds me of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Grim fighting the dead things by a river with fire)!

 

I try to fly some more.

 

(Ok, fine with me. My golems never did much anyways.)

Grim blasts them back with fire and charges a geomancy spell. He attempts to channel a fire bolt through the paddle.

You manage to create temporary legs for the fight, until you can get them healed. Unfortunately, you can no longer run, and you're roughly a foot shorter. Your real legs fell off the platform and were destroyed.

You manage to fly fifty feet, before your arm dislocates and you crash into a tree. It seems your padding only helped a bit.

The figure's power is far too great to defeat with his own magic, and you fail terribly. The fire spell doesn't seem to have much noticeable effect, but the platform begins to cave slightly.

Many of the creatures are beaten back, but they continue to advance. They seem to be skeletons with little bits of flesh attached to their rotting bodies. Geomancy doesn't seem to want to work in the cavern. The fire bolt disappears, though the paddle hums even more.

Grim attempts to blast them back with abyssal fire again. He then attempts to run a bolt of hellfire through the paddle.

[Earth]

i charge the crature, to give more time for roccos spells to work. as soon as the platform starts to give, i jump off of the section.

I patch up any dents in my armour, heal my arm, and try to strengthen the padding around joints. I also try to create a small healing spell powered by the life crystals that prevents/quickly fixes such damage. I begin to ponder whether or not it would be possible to use offensive telepathy (controlling minds, distraction, brain damage, headaches, mind reading, stuff like that).

 

Also, I continue to practise flying.

 

@ Earth: Sphere of flying metal shards that would mince an elephant. Need I say more?

The platform begins to melt, and shockingly, it's melting under you the fastest!

You fail to cast the abyssal fire, and they begin dragging you down towards the water, ruining your clothes! You hear a low rumble from the water.

 

-Earth

 

You trip and fall after sticking your foot on one of the many caving sections of the platform, burning your foot. The figure gets up and fixes its holes, before changing its swords into twin axes!

 

-Nex

 

You fix everything up, and you strengthen the padding. You figure out that the healing spell would require some expertise or a trained wizard to do such a spell, though you have the ingredients with you. You have a feeling that it may be possible to use telepathy in an offensive manner, but it would require training. Maybe your local library in Ikana might have a book. Your shoulders don't feel up to the task of flying for the moment.

I do what I did after last call (I ask the people how to catch spirits and then follow what they say)

I heal my shoulders, and begin flying/walking/healing/running/flying again towards Ikana. I begin looking for an "Offensive Telepathy for Dummies" book in the Ikana library, as well as one of the former Ivory Mages.

[Earth]

"aw now thats cheap, you copy cat. if you had only one, then that would be even worse" i charge at him, and throw acid bolts along the way.

@ nex: every time ive tried to do that, i either burn myself, or somthing happens that doesnt make any sense that stops me. such as rocco falling him. i was going to shove him into the sphere with my axe, but then i figured that rocco was on him.. so..

I mean I I shout 'no, explain' and then follow whatever they say presicsly.

Grim bashes them back with the paddle and tries to make it back to shore. If he does he attaches the grappling hook to the light sucking invicirope and uses that to climb out.

"Well it's quite simple really. Spirits are sentient, so like people, there are two ways of getting their help. You can either battle with them and force them to obey your will, or you can convince them with logical arguments. Generally battling them only works if they are weak enough and you are strong enough, while convincing them might be more difficult. Spirits often have agendas of their own, so speaking with each spirit is different."

 

You see all manners of lights of different colors, floating around the cavern.

The entire platform seems like it's about to give way, due to your efforts. Unfortunately, the figure charges at you and swings its axes, which you barely dodge.

The librarian directs you to an address book of important mages. "We don't carry books of forbidden magic in this library, sir."

 

-Earth

 

He slashes with his left axe, blocking your axe and gouging a large chunk out of your midsection. You begin to feel dizzy.

 

-Grim

 

You fail to knock them off. Currently, you are barely under the surface of the water.

[Earth]

i heal meself, and then stop it from attacking rocco in any way that i can. rocco.. hurry up with that spell, wouldja?

[Nexaduro]

Why is it forbidden?

 

After I recieve the answer, I look through the address book for one of the more powerful Ivory Mages, and pay them a visit, asking about the perma-heal spell for my armour and offensive telepathy magic.

Grim attempts to use the invincirope and a grappling hook to pull himself out. He uses the barrage of fireballs to beat the hands back.
