wordsofthelord
Thanks to all who gave advice but now I am wondering if doing tars is worth doing or are they a waste of time?
Vulxai
Depends on how fast you want it. I'd definitely call in MTK for some aid, no doubt about it, but if you want it faster, you'd have to buy some from GE as well. I'd just head to ge and price herbs and seconds of some popular potions and subtract from the cost of the potion to see how much it'd cost. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
qeltar
Gathering herbs from MTK makes sense regardless of what other actions you take. You can either use them or sell them, and at the current time, you're going to get over double the money you invest there. The idea that you need tens of millions of gp to train Herblore is a myth. You need that money only to train it *fast*. If you train it at a moderate pace, it is only mildly expensive -- and may even turn you a profit. BloodAngel
I was looking at this the other day and found that Super Attack Potions were one of the cheapest options when buying everything however it is still very expensive with a 2.5m loss from 68-70 herblore alone and I don't know how well they sell on the GE. As was said above, your best bet is to use MTK and perhaps do some herb farming. It will be slow but it will save you millions in the long run. Hope this helps :^_^: "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
wordsofthelord
Thanks this has helped. I am currently cleaning all my kingdom herbs and then I will make all I can into the best pots i can. After that I will see where I am and maybe buy a few levels. I might even make tar, I have heard that is a decen way to level herblore as well. qeltar
You really need to be careful with cleaning herbs. The prices of grimy and clean herbs go up and down constantly, and you can either make money or lose money depending on how patient you are and how well you research the market. wordsofthelord
Is it even worth it do to harralander tars. I know there is a big loss, but i can almost afford to buy all the ingredients to level to 86.
JoeDaStudd
Harralander tars are pretty damn fast and they are extremely lazy, which is why they cost a bit more then other methods.Remember you do 26 at a time, only click once and only have to clean the harralander at the most. Personally I do it with all the harralanders I get from MTK (100+ per 5 days). I would do a time trial of 100 harralanders and 100 normal potions, noting the exp and time it took. 12pure34
Calculation done: 15 swamp tar + 1 harralander = 15 harralander tar 107gp = Harralander tar each --> 15 * 107 = 1605gp sell value per 15 harralander tar Cost:15 tar = 143 ea = 2145gp1 harralander = 1129gp for a grimy harralander Total cost: 3274gp Revenue - Cost = 1605 - 3274 = - 1669gp Exp. gained: 6.3xp from cleaning, 72,5xp from making tar Total exp = 78,8xp Cost / exp = 21,18 gp / exp Does that answer your question? :P

wordsofthelord
From what i can tell just him cleaning herbs is mousekeyed but I reallu dont think it matters. Try it for yourself and see what you can do with mousekeys. I have never used them so I am not entirely sure.
Geburah
Cleaning herbs works better without mousekeys, for me anyway.I managed to get 102k/h without and 97k/h with mousekeys. Also, lvling without mousekeys is easier on you if you train longer periods.
Robert_R
This might help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRdS_KvlaroWhat in the video is mousekeyed and what is with the mouse itself? My question isn't anwerred yet :P..Just the "5" key to click is used. You repeatedly hit the 5 key while moving your mouse normally over the herbs. Easy money and xp if you find the herbs that sell for more than the grimy herb(sometimes they don't sell in the ge so you gotta watch for that)
i_r_slayer
Concerning herb cleaning: You actually spam both the 5 and + key on your keyboard for best results. I do not recommend herb cleaning for more than an hour a day and if you start feeling any pain you shouldn't do it at all. Spamming keys is a very easy way to cause repetitive strain injury, although it may sound silly, a lot of warrior tanks in world of warcraft have developed this problem because their gameplay is so key-spam heavy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repetitive_strain_injury
