Maze: First time killing druids, then I got lots more. I think I got one for un-equipping a broodoo mask, and another for doing the rasp berry emote. They usually come when you have a full inv, because if you get a box, the old man gives you a maze instead because he can't fit the box in your inv.

Finally the old man sent me to the mime stage while fighting pirates in the ice caves, seven times...thats right, 7 times. :D I got them all in several weeks worth of training there.

easy way to get maze's is fletching. To get 70 fletching i had to fletch like 15k willow longs :(, and i got about 8 maze's while doing it.

That's only for maze. Because you can't get a mysterious box with a full inv, you get a maze if he tries to give you one.
