TheLad1
Whats the setup + invo i will need to do this task OR should i block it provided i have 200 points to block at least this and 1 other task if needed be. I'd cancel task - they are poor xp & drops are useless. I don't get them assigned that often, so probably not worth spending the 100 points on blocking (unless you're getting them every 3-4 tasks!!) skylor12344
Hmm do you need prayer to fight these? i seen according to TIB they have a special ability that can turn off your prayers and i also see that you need d'hide or karils to kill them and with my stats im not sure ill be able to kill them using just d'hide without prayer as i already have a bit of a hard time with abby specs hitting me fairly often. Maxingmck
Most people would block it but what I reccomend is: Prayer:Neitiznot HelmProselyte top and bottomDragon bootsZamorak stoleZamorakian Spear Berserker ring>Any other Just pray magic and when an Aquanite turns off your pray turn it back on Or For no pray just switch the Proselyte for D'Hide Noobs: We pay we sayJaGeX: How much will you pay? My_Eggs
Aquanites really aren't hard at all. I don't see why people don't like doing them. You can use any prayer bonus gear and just pray mage on them, or use d hide and just take some food. I've even used dharoks there before, and it worked pretty well. 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. skylor12344
like i said, considering i have a bit of a hard time with Abby spec(lvl 93) hitting me often(with the right setup i have +108 mage def using blk d'hide) i dont think ill be able to do them without using prayer because i cant afford karils and considering they are lvl 114. parthenorius
Before i blocked them, I switched between praying and tanking them with a bunyip and swallow whole scrolls, and switched gear.I did use karil's, though. Not sure how much harder dragonhide makes tanking.
Ezkaton
They're a pretty easy task tbf, only cancel if you really start to hate them...... According to most people they hate stab so a ZS works well here...... my normal set up would be: Slayer HelmFuryKarils top and bottomD bootsBarrows GlovesFire capeZS and stab away. Invo full of monks, have a yip and about 50 scrolls, and you'll be alright for a good amount of them..... when I was 96 def with 75 attack and strength I could get through about 70 a trip there. Substitute the Karils for Black Dhide and you'll be fine...... Pray near the end of the task to try and maximise kills...... They don't hit as bad as Abby Specs...... but when they do manage to land a hit they'll hit between 10-15 generally. skylor12344
Ok so im doing this task with d'hide but they seem to be hitting me extremely hard(only made it to about 30 kills in one trip) so should i invest in karils for the extra boost or should i switch up my setup for a higher mage def over the extra offense? i have 11m so it dont break me completely i just dont wanna lose alot of money on it Current setup = 96 mage defSlayer helmgloryblk d'hide topblk d'hide bottomsdragon bootsbarrows glovescook skillcape UTWealth New setup = 100 mage defslayer helmgloryblk 'dhide topblk d'hide bottomswhite mystic bootsbarrows glovesZammy capewealth
Askthedude
You could carry on and finish the task tanking in Dhide then switch to using Kuradal when you finish as she asigns quite a lot of the monsters Duradel does but she doesn't assign Aquanites. Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities. skylor12344
yea but i dont have the fairy ring unlocked so it would take me longer to get to her than it takes me to get to duradel(have the k3 gloves unlocked for shilo tele)
Askthedude
The ring only takes one trip to be completed. And you don't even have to finish Ftp2 for the rings to be unlocked so if you don't have the stats to finish it then it doesn't matter. And after using her for a few tasks you should have enough ferocious rings to be able to use the teleport to her without running out of rings so that's another option. skylor12344
hmm ill try to use kuradel when i finish this task but what is required to open up the fairy ring? i heard it was something like 3 bittercap mushrooms and something else but im not exactly sure. Askthedude
Did you know......with this weeks update, Jagex put an incomplete fairy ring into the Ancient Cavern? It is located near the waterfiends and requires 5 bittercap mushrooms (in-game they are called Mushrooms) and a spade. The Fairy code to it is BJQ. And with this fairy ring it means you can bring in a summoned monster now. Previously if you tried to jump off the dock into the whirlpool with a summoned monster you wouldn't be able to get into the Ancient Cavern. skylor12344
cool thx, should i just go in there with a anti-dfire shield and pot and pray range while im near there because of the waterfiends?
lordkafei
Pardon my thread necromancy, but this is a problem I have had to solve tonight. I'm tacking this on for anyone who searches this out in the future (including my own absent-minded self). You want to: (1) wear dragonhides(2) get your stab bonus as high as possible(3) take a bunyip with swallow whole scrolls People recommend the zammy spear a lot, but a leaf-bladed sword + rune defender combo will get you +2 more on the stab attack number and is a helluva lot cheaper. Also, the ardy cloak gives stab attack bonuses. I find that this setup lets me kill aquanites without using prayer.
