Peronix
I just got 80 agility today, and I've already spent quite a bit of time at the advanced gnome course using summer pies. I've gotten to 81 agility using this course and earned agility legs for it. My question is: Is it really worth doing at my level? I fail the wall run nearly, if not more than half the time, which as I've discovered after timing it, adds a whopping 10-15 seconds to the run (~40 seconds vs ~55). IDK, I never bothered to time my ape atoll runs, but I'm almost certain they're much shorter than 55 seconds. So is it really worth an extra 145 exp per run to do the adv gnome course at this point? Also, at what level should I start doing the adv barb course (using pies of course)? I was thinking 87 but I'm not really sure.
Umoria
As for the Ape Atoll course: after 80 agility, you will fail so little. Maybe you don't fail at all. So if you time the 15 seconds extra, on an hour base, I think Ape Atoll is slightly better exp in the long run. "We had gay burglars the other night. They broke in and rearranged the furniture." Vulxai
You stop failing Ape Atoll at 75, although I'm not sure on the run times, but I would think it'd be close xp wise. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
Umoria
I thought you stopped failing at 80? Well, 75 is good, and the runs are small, and the exp good. The last obstacle is the best for exp in the run, so if you won't fail....Hm I don't have the experience with all courses, but I think getting your agility up at Ape Atoll, is a good idea. Melencholy
Personally I used summer pies at 80. why? because I was sick of ape atoll by then and you can only fail one obstacle at advanced gnome anyway so the xp is still better then ape atoll or at least very close. And you get the agile clothing faster if you pie to advanced gnome and then later to advanced barbarian. If you don't pie at 80 I still strongly suggest you start using summer pies to go there at 82-84 if just for a change. on the other hand if you are not sick of ape atoll by then you can just save a bit of money and stay there. Xinxan
What about Dorgesh agility course? It's pretty much deserted, but is there a really good reason for that? I mean, i raised 79 to 80 there (with summer pies) and only ever failed an obstacle if the boost went to 79 while in the middle of an obstacle. I've yet to fail with 80 agl and the xp was nice, i'm not sure but probably better than Ape.
Dullmage
If your really bored of Ape, move on to Gnome. As soon as I reached 82 I went to Gnome and didnt have many problems. If your not bored of Ape, I would do it until around level 83 as it will be slightly faster. Also, if you want to move onto Barb I would wait until atleast 88. Then again, I stayed at Gnome from 80-99 because I found barb too lonely and dull. Goodluck and you might want to check out w47_ape cc, as they may have more information. Codguy
At Ape Atoll you can get, for the most part, 50-53k xp/hr. That is off of a basis of around 40 seconds per run. So you can just compare your experience per hour at Advanced Gnome Course to the rate that I just gave you, to consider if it's worth your time or not. I'd personally recommend waiting until 82 or 83 Agility to start Gnome Course again, since I know it is quite frustrating waiting so long to recover from your fall. In terms of when to start Barbarian, if you enjoy it and want to do it, then I would recommend level 88 Agility. At this time, when you pie up to 93 Agility, you cannot fail the course (at 93). I started Advanced Gnome at level 82 Agility, and just got through that first level, the next two were much better. If I could go back, I would just do Ape Atoll until 83 to start Gnome. Peronix
Okay, I crunched the numbers and actually, oddly enough, gnome is a bit better than ape atoll, assuming you fail about half the time. Ape atoll: 3600 seconds / 40 = 90 runs an hour * 580 exp = 52,200 exp per hour.Gnome: 3600 seconds / 47.5 (average of 40 and 55) = 75.8 runs an hour * 725 exp = 54,947 exp per hour. Though of course I'm not entirely sure if your 40 seconds a run is accurate but I'll trust it. And since I just hit 82 there anyway my fail rate will probably be a bit less than half anyway. Btw, what is the no fail level for gnome, 89? Is it worth it then to pie up to that level every run so I never fail?
010jonathan
Just wondering, why are you guys so determined to use the gnome course? You can't wear the agile legs until 85 agility and the summer pies are pretty annoying to use all the time, especially at level 80 cause after 1 level lost, you need to use another pie etc etc. Isn't that too much hassle to just keep on using ape atoll? Although yes it is better to wait till 81-82 agility to start pieing there. also I can get around 35 seconds per round of the advanced gnome course so the xp is better then ape atoll.
