how come no healing spells

maybe this was discussed before. im pretty sure it was, but i probably missed that. i think this game needs healer spells. nearly every medieval game i have every played that involves magic gives the ability to heal a target (either yourself or another player/monster). of course, the spell's effectiveness could increase with magic level and runes used (nature, body, mind, air, soul perhaps) as well as an anti-posion/cure spell that you could cast.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

is there any reason why jagex never put this in the game?

i was thinking this the other day too, for a game called runescape they dont seem too focused on magic or runes. and even if its unfair to make them, how about prayers for ranging and maging? theres all those fancy ones for melee, but nothing for range and mage!

Rangers can't heal using arrows, Melee can't heal using dragon longswords...

 

 

 

rangers and warriors dont alch, stun or enchant either.... the point of a ROLE PLAYING GAME is that different characters can play different roles. if youre a ranger or a warrior and you want to alch, stun or enchant, just make sure you have the right runes and mage level. same with healing. i dont see your point

I think the point was that it would make mages far overpowered in the wilderness.

 

 

 

There would have to be some negative connotations to it.

I think they should Split Mages up into two catagories.

White Magic (ripped off FF, so what)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sourcerers keep the Elemental Spells, God Spells, Iban Blast, Slayer Dart etc... They can also cast weakening spells, powering up etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

White Magic would have stuff like healing, cure poison, shields, increasing defence etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I just think eating a whole fricking shark (why aren't they endangered in runescape yet) healing you for 20Hp is ridiculous.

Healing would be cool, but it is more likely to turn up in prayer, seeing only monks have the ability to heal people...

geez ppl. healer wouldnt be exclusive to mages. ANYBODY with the right magic level and runes could cast it, regardless of the weapons and armor you equip. its just like alching or enchanting. anybody can do it if they have the right runes and mage level

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

not only that, but you could cast it on your friends (or on monsters, if you wanted) for team play either in the wild or against npc monsters. the vast majority of spells are attack spells. i think it would be a good idea to have 2 or 3 healing spells as part of the list of mage spells

Rune armour wasn't out when the game was released.

 

 

 

I agree with you on the prayer though, definately if healing is to be expanded (do we already have a healing prayer?) I'd think it would come under prayer.

There are 4 Healing Spells in the game atm. They are called Blood Rush, Blood Burst, Blood Blitz and Blood Barrage. :P

 

 

 

your right. i forgot about these. not popularly used for healing, but they heal anyway. kinda like a mage version of guthans effect. well i guess they will have to do...

I personally have always wondered why there are three melee (attack, strength, and defence) and only one range and magic. I really could see magic expanded into some sort of healing/summoning/necromancy in the future. Not just healing but spells that are kind of like pots that boost skills. but right now i think you should just use the ancient spells that do heal you if not directly or just use food.

Such as time limits(time between spells, like 5 minutes between spells and only heal a fraction of HP), and 50 runes per spell (as lots of players have over 100k runes)

triplets, i suppose it could work like bind, snare, entangle. the higher the heal spell, the more damage it restores. no single cast would heal you completely. say the lowest level spell would heal you for 3-4 hp, the mid-level spell heals for 6-7 and the high level spell would heal for 8-10. eating would still be the fastest way to restore hp, but the advantage of healing would be for supporting friends that are taking damage, such as when fighting a strong monster. also, it could work like teleport spells, where you cant use it at a certain level in the wilderness

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the thing is, not everything in runescape revolves around pkilling, and not every suggestion has to be viewed as giving an advantage to one pk type over the other. no matter what fighting style you use, you can tele, alch or enchant once you have the runes and the level.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i dont think such a spell would make any pk type have a greater advantage

How about this;

 

 

 

Castable on others, and receiver of the spell will get a window asking for permission.(Like teleother)

 

 

 

It's castable only every 30-45 seconds.

 

 

 

It's an option in the duel area

 

 

 

Cannot cast on others in wildy, and when cast on self only heals 1/2 (Round up.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Level / Name / Runes Req. / Effect

 

 

 

20 / Sooth / 3 Body, 2 Nat / Heals 5 HP

 

 

 

40 / Mend / 6 Body, 4 Nat / Heals 10 HP

 

 

 

60 / Recover / 2 Soul, 6 Nat / Heals 15 HP

 

 

 

80/ Revive / 3 Soul, 8 Nat / Heals 20 HP
