Themooingcow666
Ok so i just got 80 in all melee stats80 att, 80 str, 80 def, 80 HPand there all around the same XP, (Except str which needs 10K more to be the same as att and def)so what i am wondering is if i get them all at the same XPwould controlled (shared) fighting style be good with abyssal whip?Ya i know it would take forever, but when i DID level up it would be 3 levels at a time instead of 1, work on next one repeat.and i figured out that you get 1.5XP for each damage for each stat which actually equals out to about 4.5 XP each damage which is .5 Xp more than just training one. So would this be better in the long run? or should i just train individually?Thank you :D
jsboutin2
That choice is yours, ut consider that you would have say 81 attack and 81 srenght to level defence, giving you a slight benifit. Yes controlled can be cool, but there's too much time between levels IMO. Also, you get 1,33 xp for each hit, not 1,5. No advantage on this side. Codguy
Well if you think about it, training controlled is actually better in the long run. Yeah, it's slower between levels, but you get used to it. The main thing is that it is faster than training Strength and Defence, because Strength is commonly trained using a Dragon Scimitar or a Saradomin Sword, which are both a lesser method than using a whip. And Defence doesn't give the slight bonus to Strength and Attack (Attack, Strength, and Defence styles give +4 bonus to each respectively, while controlled gives a shared bonus of +1.33 to each) that the Whip gives on Controlled. So Controlled is faster in the long run. Also, I think the bonuses are +4 and +1.33 to each style, but not 100% sure. I do know that is how it works nonetheless. And as previously said, the xp goes +4 for each 3 skills individually, or +1.33 shared using controlled.

SS = Whip But in slayer, strenght will be evened out with the otheer stats if you use your ss in places where you don't need that much defense, or where you need it (Waterfiends) To the OP: Use Sumona until you hit 68 summon, then Duradel or Karudal. (I prefer Karudal).

Ya i think i might do that then.

K4ylan
A Whip and a defender provide a better Attack Bonus and Strength bonus than the SS. Personally, I'd like to train on controlled with the whip. Plus, everytime you level all 4 stats(ATK, HP, STR, DEF) you'll gain a combat level too. ~~~The Harpy List~~~Harpy Facts~~~It's Super Effective~~~The Beginning~~~Harpy Therapy Center~~~Alg~~~Jedi Harpy~~~Rohirrim~~~Attenuation~~~

Vulxai
Controlled is a lot better. It makes you feel good when you get three levels at once, too (or in the same general time). I'd go try out Duradel/Lapalok and see how you like him for a few tasks, if you don't like it, move down to Sumona. Obviously, at 75 slayer go with Kuradel. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
Themooingcow666
Ok cool thanks :D I use duradel for EVERY 10th and 50th task so far he is nice except the iron drags XP which are good but kind of annoying
SirIzenhime
I've been training on controlled since my melee stats were 70 each. As already explained earlier, Controlled is generally a better method, as you get to constantly use the most efficient weapon on the game. purekilljoy
go with controlled for sure. I was stupid. I got my stats leveled at 83 when i got my whip. And I only trained att and def and some tasks i Dharoked (gargoyles - still do dharok) so now when i started again i had 92 att 91 def and 84 str. :D which is stupid, so i started training controlled. And it is a lot faster now. So i just dharok some tasks and hopefully at lvl 96 melee stats i'll be even or st. :D Also, for the master I'd use Shilo, Duradel i think it was? He gives larger assignments in comparison to summona, which ultimately means a lot more faster slayer xp.

Even though it might seem more expensive, when you do the lvl 3 clues you'll easily break more than even. I cannoned black dragons, black demons, hellhounds, kalphites, of course dagganoths. Did gargoyles with dharok praying, mage prayed spectres, spiritual mages - Always super potted and did that from 81 to 85 slayer. I didn't get a single rare drop, only did most of the clues, bougth all my food, and I am still making money. Point being - if you want to be efficient. Utilize the best equipment and the best slayer master. It won't be that expensive, you just won't be stacking up millions in the short run. But you will be leveling a lot faster, thus - getting to bigger money faster. :) I am still continuing training the way I have until now, because it is a good way to do it and i will do it until atleast 93 slayer. Codguy
I've heard about getting different experience for monsters such as dragons and monsters, which I'll test out sometime. However, I was just testing out at Abyssal Demons and got exactly 0.4 xp per damage (same as 4 xp per damage in the old system). Just to give a bit of insight. Vulxai
Did anyone find out? Most monsters are .4 (just scaled down, so pretty much the exact same), boss monsters still give a little bit more, but it'll take a little bit until we know all the monsters that give more, but controlled is still the way to go, imo. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
