what combat should u be to start doing barrows?

Hm I'll try to remember what I usually bring...

 

 

 

I tend to just bring the best food I have (usually Swordies), around 8 prayer pots (4), Iban staff and just enough runes to cast Iban blast 100 times (you have to recharge after 100 uses anyway), tele to camelot runes, and my clothing is just some boots and gloves, any spare mystic stuff that I have (but only blue - white/gold, black/red is too expensive) and I'm all set.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I pray on all the brothers, and I also mage them all... Ahrim is the toughest to defeat with mage, but I don't bring any meleeing equipment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I don't go to barrows much, but I've been around 15 times now, died on my first trip... damn you Dharok! and on my 3rd trip I go myself a Dmed :D after only 10 or so kills

I REPLACED AHRIMS WITH MYSTIC TOP AND BOTTOMS + FARSEERS HELM seeing i worked out id lose most of it if i died :P and i sometimes use c bow (like recently when i accidently sold all ma rune arrows) ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâì_ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâì also some altarations like i take white boots, normal rune helm and kite also

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

well i always recharge my preyer for one at that temple near teh swamp, then i go to barrows via teh boat, stick on my robes mage karil, change 2 ma blk drag kill ahrim, then when it comes 2 the melee bros i will stick on my armor with the ice burst spell set and let them attack me once (normally they dont hit and i dont think ive ever been hurt by dharok to this day) and i auto retaliate with the spell, once his frozen i back away a space or 2 cast the spell 2 more times before running to the other side of the uhh coffin whateva change 2 ma robes and ice burst him. i do taht with all the melee bros and i just use preyer on the bro in the tunnel normally i only use 50-60 spells a trip 2 preyer doses and 2-3 lobs

Ive been to barrows and never got much. Dharok helm and ahrim staff. Nothing good. Well ive gotten the bolt racks but thats besides the point. Im not sure if i should go back to barrows though. I used over 400k in prayer potions and didnt get anything. Cause after i sold dharok helm i got 800k and spent it on pots.

You should use obsidan shield would improve youre str cos sq takes down magic 2 i like youre gear i have 89 atk 90 str 88 def 92 hits 72 pray 86 range and 86 mage would this be good enought for the gear? (I have full guthan)

Switch to uber melee defense again.

 

 

 

Drink SD

 

 

 

Mage Guthan and Torag

 

 

 

Switch to uber range attack/mage defense outfit

 

 

 

Range Ahrim.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Verac in tunnel: Safe-spot used. Side-step a must if no safe spot

 

 

 

Karil in tunnel: Save superset for him, side-step a must!

Strategy

 

 

 

Please note that this is a very ineffective way to barrow and will last one trip if that but is a way lower lvls (65+) can barrow.

 

 

 

First use protect from melee ALL TIMES on all four barrows brothers, do iban blast on them and it will do several 20s if your lucky

 

 

 

For Ahrim equip dragonhide and take out msb with rune arrows, spec him and attack

 

 

 

do same with karil

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Iban blast for barrowing is a very bad idea :wink: With a fully charged Iban, you wouldn't really be able to run for more than 2 trips before having to go recharge, which frankly is a waste of time.

i dont need str bonus..i use mage on karil..and d sq gives more def bonus and reduce less mage att..trust me..better def bonus will help alot, u have to face 2 melee brothers and 1 range brother without pray(no pray on ahrim too..but it doesn't count in def) and yes..ur stats are good enough for this gear :)

I dont know what all the big fuss here is all about,I myself started doing barrows before i was even level 80,60 magic,60 range and 43 prayer is all you need.It could be useful to have 40 defence for armour in the tunnel but in all fairness even a lvl 50 could do barrows given the right stats and equipement.

Anyways i start of with Dharock,it usually takes 10 darts and 25 prayer points.I then move to Verac and dart him for some reason he seems to take about 5-10 more shots than dharock.I then move to Torag,take a sip of prayer potion and get rid of him,keep on restoring prayer and using magic darts until im at ahrims.Just switch to blackhide and range him.I then just go to the tunnel and try and enter the inner chamber,there i just keep on opening doors until i get my 6th brother and a kc of 15.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

FACTS:

 

 

 

This section is just to quell some of all those rumours spreading around

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1.ALL the barrows brother are BROTHERS,Leesters1 just made up the Verac thing

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.Rings of wealth are entirely innefective in the tunnels,hell im pretty sure theyre just innnefective everywhere.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3.Kill count DOES increase the amount of runes and coins you get BUT so does the amount of time you spend in the tunnels.I would reccomend trying to spend 5 minutes in the tunnel max(I think another forum user worked out the forumla of time spent in tunnel/killcount = quality of goods in chest or something,if thats you,please post the correct formula in this this thread)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4.Jagex CLAIMS that crumbling tomes dont affect what all you get from the chest,but then again,they also claim that kharil and ahrims werent affected and that whip specials were meant to be that way.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5.You should always have at least 5 open inventory spaces whenever you open the chest since it doesnt drop items first and you always seem to get items in this order.
