Enigma and Kimako move wearily to the side of the trail of blood, hiding behind a tree at the slightest sign of movement.

Karl:

You find mostly old junk, but salvage 12 9mm rounds and 100c.

 

Varius:

You climb up a tree, and get into a good position. You realize that you spent 500c total.

Kimako/Enigma:

You don't hear or see anything. There are no corpses in the area, though.

 

Stephen:

You hand the CS executive the artifact, and he smiles. He says, "With this, we will be able to add the finishing touches on our prototype gauss rifle." He hands you 300c, and takes back the biosuit you were borrowing.

I try moving stealthily and carefully between trees to follow the trails of blood. If I'm unable to, I replace my knives in the bandolier and start scanning the area with my thermal scoped MP5.

Enigma continues to follow the trail of blood, moving alongside it, and hiding behind trees at any sense of movement.

Kimako does the same.

Karl goes to the ecologists to ask for some assignments.

Varius:

You move forward, but start crunching on some leaves, ruining your element of surprise. You see nothing from the thermal scope.

 

Enigma:

You follow the trail of blood, and come up to 6 dead bodies.

 

Earth:

You spot two monolithians and a small crate.

 

Karl:

The ecologists tell you they need help investigating some strange PSY readings, but say it is suicide if you go solo.

 

Stephen:

The CS executive tells you, "We need you to take out some renegades at a pumping station. It is a valuable resource for us." He marks the location on your PDA.

Enigma shoots every body cleanly in the head, before checking them for any sign of attack (Other than the shot to the head)

Varius attempts to move to another tree quietly. He continues scanning with his thermal scope.

Kimako loots the bodies, scanning for enemies.

Karl goes to the duty base and tries to buy some more 9mm rounds and a new medkit.

Enigma:

They look about as dead as they are going to be. You check the bodies, and every corpse has mid-sized holes in the neck. Suddenly, you hear some leaves crunching nearby.

Earth:

You open fire, and critically wound one of the monolithians, but miss the other. They return fire, and one of them hits you in the chest, causing you to bleed.

Stephen:

You come up to the pumping station, and spot 4 renegades. They all have garbage weaponry, though.

 

Kimako:

You hear some noises in the brush neaby, halting your progress.

 

Varius:

You spot something running by the trees, and it doesn't notice you.

Karl:

The trader hands you a medkit and 20 9mm rounds for helping defend their base from the zombies.

Crap. Bloodsucker.

 

When it slows down, I attempt to empty my clip into its head.

Enigma pulls his coat up over his neck again, before aiming in the direction Varius saw the creature go, and firing if he sees any movement.

Kimako fires one shot into the bush where she heard the sound, and fires at full auto setting with her enhanced AK-47 with red dot at anything that comes out of the bushes.

Karl goes onto the pumping rig.

It's invisible, strong, and several feet taller than a human. Straight combat is NOT recommended. Full auto spray and grenades are.

How do we know they're invisible?

 

Also, the taller they are, the more target I have to hit.

Varius:

You take some shots at the bloodsucker, and manage to hit it a couple times, but it seems unphased.

-15 9mm rounds

Enigma:

You take a couple of shots in the direction of the sound, and see some blood spurt in midair.

-2 9mm rounds

+0.1 handgun prof.

 

Kimako:

You shoot into the bush, and hear a growl. You hear footsteps and heavy breathing, but it isn't coming from the bush anymore.

-1 7.62MM rounds

+0.2 AR prof.

 

Stephen:

You open fire on the renegades, and kill one of them instantly. You also critically wound another, but miss the last two. They return fire, but one of their guns jam, and the other two miss. The wounded one falls over, and is bleeding profusely.

-4 5.56x45mm rounds

+0.2 AR prof.

Prior encounters, early on. I think Grim first encountered one. Nearly took down an entire squadron, would have if there wasn't a base nearby. If it catches you, you're dead.

I flick the 10 knives from my bandolier to give us a visible target to shoot at (knives stick out, showing where it is). I then reload my SMG and go full auto fire on it's head. When I'm out I shoot a pistol clip. No time for holding back, guys.

In that case, would a smoke grenade not reveal their form?

 

Enigma throws a smoke grenade and then fires at disturbances in the smoke with his handgun.

If Kimako doesn't post, assume she follows our lead. Bowl a grenade towards it and empty AK-47 clip into it.
