We have just recieved word from local authorties that a large object has just crashed into rural area near Nottingham. Fortunately, nobody was harmed. However, local relief teams have reported the area around the crash site is emmiting lethal amounts of gamma radiation. Citizens are urged to evacuate the area within the 50km radius.

 

The moblie base has been successfuly deployed near the site of the crash. Several teams have been sent out to further investigate the source of large amount of radioactive debris that has been pouring out from the crash site. The zone has been increased to a 100km radius. There is a chance that Nottingham will be evacuated.

 

A team of my colleagues has reported that they have witnessed been strange activities, and that various objects with odd properties have been spotted near these anomalies. A report came in stating that one member was killed by some sort of electrical field. More investigation is required in this matter. The mobile base was a faliure, and all the staff died within a short time of being deloyed there. On top of that, the doors have been sealed shut, and we can't spare another team to investigate.

 

Another research team was lost when taking measurements near the crash site today. With the alarming spread of various anomalies and radioactive particles, the UK has been completely evacuated. It has been reported that hundreds of scavengers have illegally entered the former UK in search of the various "artifacts", which are the byproducts of the strange occurences. The UN has sent in troops to put an end to this illegal scavenging and to protect the various research teams.

 

Here is my take on a variation of Archi's "dungeoneering". You are a scavenger that has entered the contaminated area in hopes of wealth, since these "artifacts" sell for large amounts in the black market. You only start out with a 9mm pistol, 50 9mm rounds, basic clothing, a medical kit, and a hunting knife. Eventually, you want to get to the center (the crash site) to see what is exactly going on. Keep in mind that you will have to get better suits and a gas mask to survive the harsh conditions. If anyone is interested just post the character name and backstory. Also, various factions have sprung up in the area. They can offer you aid, and can sell you items. Keep in mind that these factions have relations with each other, and your actions will determine how they act towards you, and how powerful they are.

 

UPDATE:

Certain weapons can use fully automatic fire. If you want to use this feature, state so in your post. The advantage is that there is a x1.3

damage boost, but it uses two rounds per enemy and is less accurate.

Clip sizes have also been added to weapons. You can attack as many enemies as your clip size allows. For instance, the default 9mm handgun has a clip size of 5, allowing you to attack five different enemies per round. Clip sizes will be posted in weapon stats.

Just a note:

100 Kilometers of the UK being evacuated would be like the West and East Coasts of the United States evacuating...There would be some 80 million people by 2019, and space is already at a premium here.
