Healing fires

Ok so this is my first suggestion. Healing fires are coloured fires created by players who have high firemaking level. They come in these colours:

 

Red: Life points

Purple: Prayers

 

Please, give me some more colour ideas as I got none more.

 

The percentage of healing or restoring is 50%

 

Possible Q&A:

 

Q: Why don't you make summoning or run energy?

A: Summoning already has many obelisks and Energy has many musicians and also a rest option.

 

Q: This will ruin the danger!

A: No, of course not. You need high FM lvl with high constitution/prayer lvl to do.

 

Q: How rare are they?

A: As rare as seeing helpful players with these requirements.

 

Q: What is the requirement?

A: Here are some give you some statistics:

Hp: 95 fm and hp

Prayer: 95 fm and prayers.

Oh, and you also need to use magic logs. And it is temporary for up to 3 mins.

 

Q: Could I use them again afterwards?

A: Yes.

Stupid Idea in my opinion.

 

Prayer has altars all over the place and poitions.

LP has food and restores faster via prayer, rest and various other equipment and summons.

 

If you're not prepared for the place you're going to you deserve to die or have to run away, not find some magic fire and be safe and sound.

I do not really see the point, I mean it may be useful like a rest point in a huge dungeon or something but I really cannot see the use for every day adventures.

What if they were player made buffs?

 

100% Healing fires require level 90 FM and 90 magic to light?

 

100% Prayer fires require level 95 fm and 95 prayer to light?

 

You could have lower % versions scattered throughout different level ranges, along with different uses [summoning, Aura Buffs [+5% STR when you fighting within 10 squares of it, for example]

 

Put magic fires on a cooldown, so they aren't spammable - And you've got a great use for the FM skill.

I like this idea actually.

 

100% Healing = 95 FM + 95 HP

100% Prayer = 95 FM + 95 Pray

100% Summon = 95 FM + 95 Summon

100% Run = 95 FM + 95 Agility

 

But the above idea in OP is not bad either.

a slight problem with amount of use... 5 days to use them again??!! say if i go to the wild and use the fire, then i go to kalphite layer and try to use another fire, i couldnt recover after going to the wild?? at least make it 1 day per use for each fire, but not all. all in all good idea. 99.999999999% support :thumbup:

UPDATE!

 

While reading comments and feedback, I decided that you could make healing fires but with 95 firemaking and hp or prayers using only magic logs. Plus I changed the use limit to a day. Need more feedback.

It's a really promising suggestion only if all of these fires were player made. They should take a long time (up to several minutes) to light and burn to full strength, but once they're going you can extend their life by adding more logs. Having a higher firemaking level will make each log last longer, but using better logs will make each log last a lot longer. Once lit, everyone can add to the stockpile (if the fire is not dying) or the fire (if it is), and use its boosts.

 

 

I think we've just found a way to get firemaking into a decent skill.

UPDATE:

 

I changed the OP. Now I relised that it is better to make them with high FM and hp/prayer requirement and using magic logs and they'll stay light up to 3 minutes. That way, it's harder to find one unless you make it yourself.

How do we get these coloured fires? I don't quite understand what you mean.

 

Do you mean an update for the coloured firelighters? That seems plausible, though I don't think I'd want to go around carrying a tinderbox to fights anytime soon =l the bonuses sound nice though, if you could elaborate on your idea, you'd probably get my full support, as of now I don't really understand it, that's all :)

It would be a good FM update, but I think these fires should require two new types of logs that would add content to woodcutting, monsterhunting, some sort of minigame, or possibly all three.

 

For example, boss monsters could drop these on occasion, or new bosses would have respawning trees with high woodcutting requirements in their lairs.

 

But as it is, adding it as just another use for magic logs doesn't quite justify the update.

I find the idea interesting...

 

Just one thing: How whould it work if you were max hp/prayer? Would it give you a boost?

If a couple things are changed this could be a great idea. I would support, but only because fm is useless anyway.
