Let's go sing about the end of the world!" and come up with cliched crap that isn't satisfying to listen to. I think that would be an indicator of bad music though. Bands/artists that stick to a formula that others have used without being creative about it. Not just limited to lyrics, of course... I hate the elitism that rages across the entire music spectrum, specifically in metal I find. Mainly listening to metal myself it really annoys me how many idiotic elitists there are who listen to it. Most elitists would just say that something sucks and what they like is better, but these guys take it to a whole new level. Usually done in the indie scene to boost one's hipster cred.
