Best Ways to get Cooking And Fishing to 99

Featured Replies

The title says it all mostly. I just recently returned to the game and relized i got about 3 mill in my bank and my 2 biggest skills are fishing and cooking

atm my fishing is 77 and cooking is 78. Now i want to level these at the same time if possible and make some money. Im able to get the sc harpoons, swordfish gloves, and i got the cooking gauntlets from that quest i did a while back.

Im currently doing swords and tuna with no sc harpoon, but with swordfish gloves. And once i get 1k swordfish banked i usually have 1k or more also. So that is 280k xp with the swordfish gloves

wonder if you could give me some insight on to what to catch, cook, etc.. if monkfish are required or the best option i got a lot of questing to do (UGH)

my agility is 54 and str is 71 so i believe thats all the stats that matter.

thanks for your help

To be honest, I'd say do them separately, that would be fastest. I think the fastest method would be to fish leaping salmon or something like that until you can fish rocktails at 90 or 95. Then just cook the best food you can, or the best food you can cook w/o burning until 99.

Try monkfish.

They are pretty fast to catch and if you catch enough to get to 99 fishing you should be pretty close to 99 cooking after you cook them all. You stop burning monks in the high 70s without the gauntlets so you shouldn't burn many with them. If you have some logs , you can light a fire right outside the Piscatoris bank and cook them there as well. Which gives you a little fm experience also.

The quests for monks are not that hard. Monks are decent food to use after you cook them.

Definitely do them seprately.

You don't get the same xp for catching as for cooking, so you would get 99 cook before fishing.

Monkfishes are pretty decent to cook, although you might want to look at sharks past 94.

For fishing, just use monks or shilo fly fishing to get to 90, trhen catch rocktails. I think barbarian fishing is too much of an hassle fot that skill.

Don't forget that a granite lobster or even an ibis would greatly help you!

definatly go with monkfish if u want to do them at the same time. what i did was catch 10k then cook 10k then sell. make sure u have friends to fish with though, fishing there can get monotonous.

I agree with most people. I would do the quests to get to monks. They are fairly fast. And good cooking exp. But switching to rocktails would net you alot more cash. When you can catch them. But will be alot slower. Gl in your task at hand.

i'd recommend the Varrock achievement diaries for cooking - once you have access to the bank in the cooking guild it's probably the closest bank to cooking point in the game.

Rouge den is nice if the bank guy is pinned close to the fire, and also no need to do achievement diaries so thats a bit of a time saver. i did my 99 cook at rouge den and there are usually a lot of fun people sitting around there to talk to.
