ok i have 2mill and im getting a good income but not a massive one should i buy guthan's war spear now or wait till i can aford it as well as the helmet?

I'm going to go with dont buy it and spend the money on getting a bunyip. But yeah if you dont want to train summoning for some reason, I agree with Bladewing.

Guthans is pretty outdated as a useful healing source, though the top and bottoms are very nice choices for armor. If you want it only for the healing though, do what others have said an invest in 68 summoning (And look into getting the levels needed for an Enhanced Excalibur).

I use guthans all the time. I think it's got a pretty good def bonus and the heal is nice when it's a high hit. I'd only really get it though if I could afford full.

guthans is really nice for slayer but then u get those tasks where u need a special slayer helmet part like nose peg or facemask so investing in bunyips is the smart thing to do.

The usefulness of guthans is subject to your stats.

 

Yes if you're like maxed out a yip will do you fine for most things, but when your a lower level a yip just isn't enough and often yip + guthans will be enough unless you wanna shell out of loads of food still

I didnt really like Guthans when I had it. If you're going for a defense bonus, use Torags. It's cheaper and better protection. And then go for the bunyip like everyones saying.

 

(Im to lazy to do summoning, it's why I dont have a bunyip, but thats the best bet by far)

I have full guthan myself and it's really usefull, especially for slayer tasks, but also other combat since it has decent def statss.

During slayer you can wear slayerhelmet + weapon and switch to spear and guthans helm when healing needed. In the long run, it will save you ALOT of food, since you dont need food for slayer tasks anymore.

Also, a Bunyip sounds really usefull, but it's healing is nothing compared to guthans and there is also a price tag for getting your summoning up (invalid argument because guthan's costs a few mill too?).

 

My advice, wait till you have enough money to buy full set + 1mill (repair costs and other stuff).

The nice thing about Bunyips is that not only can you use them where you couldn't use Guthan's before (Such as at abby specs or the Smokey Well) and wear your Black Mask the entire task, but it is a constant and passive method of healing which is not only more reliable than Guthan's but you can heal outside of combat.
