What a strange coincedence? All the military vehicles of the former US military were also found! Along with all the nukes!

In a strange turn of events, all of the military vehicles of the former Egyptian Army were found just... sitting around! They were quickly reclaimed by govt. officials.

No and no.

I don't really see a problem with a 2 million strong army. It would only cost a 180 billion per year to use, less if it was deployed defensively.

Hex should play reasonably, but there are no grounds for me to nerf his army, so long as he can pay for it when he wants to use it.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Half

Dusty, is EU3 really worth it? How does it differ from TW? It looks exciting, but no more so than the civ AAR's I've read, sorry ;p

EU3 is more focused on the diplomacy, economics, and wars of a country, rather than single battles like TW. They're both great series, just pirate it, see if you like it, if you do buy it.

I like it quite a bit.

Also, new chapter up :D

For the purpose of this game, is Taiwan part of china?

it's now about a million and a bit.

It's bieng played defensively at the moment.

What I don't understand is, where do these costs come from?

Food and drink are reletivly cheap and guns and ammo are paed for at the start.

Now I have put 20 billion into a fund, a few posts back so every year the army can spend two billion, that's enough for food, weapons are payed for seperatly.

Taiwan is not a part of China but if I want to expand I'm taking it.

No.

Argentina has invaded Uruguay.

The two armies fought a pitched battle, suffering some 30,000 casualties before the Argentinan army was routed, losing 40,000 in total, despite numerical superiority.

After a brief interlude the Argentinan army attacked again and began gaining ground, eventually spliting and then scattering the Uruguay army.

With the relentless march on the city there was no question of trying to seige it and it was taken with just 5,000 casualties.

Total cost of the attack:13,500,000,000

Treasury: 270,704,000,000

Infrastructure: 0.9

If you want to send your troops out with 90 rounds in the gun then do please state it and I will reduce your costs. But any attack...or defence...will very quickly run out of steam and turn into a rout.

Yes. You can play is Vijayanagar (country in India), Ming, Morroco, Benin, pretty much any country that existed at the time. This is the world map in one of my games as Germany in 1716. The grey areas are colonizable (mostly, some areas in Siberia can't be, neither can the Sahara desert, or the interior of South America):

A lot of the new world is just populated by natives (no country), though there are a few countries there that get gobbled up during the colonial era (aztecs, creek, huron, etc).

And I shall play more yes :P

I'm not an expert on buying guns in bulk but what you suggested is an incredidibly large figure.

A 50 billion one offs payment is going to keep me going for atleast 10 years.

For a million people.

25000 soliders have been recruited and sent to Thailand.

All soliders are armed with P90s and desert eagles, aside from 10000 "special" troops, armed with C14 timberwolves and desert eagles.

Deagles are defiantly not a good pistol to arm your troops with. They weigh a ton, have shattering recoil, and are massive. A soldier rarely uses his pistol, only if his gun jams or runs out of ammo.

I think our military maintenance costs should be included in the 90% of our income that gets auto-spent.

Can people stop arming their troops [developmentally delayed]edly? There should be no one gun that all troops use. Also, why the hell would you give them desert eagles?

Also, p90's are a bad choice. Giving your troops SMG's with low range and stopping power isn't a good call.

Well when I form my armies, I always arm them in generic American fashion. That means, standard armor and rifles, with larger belts to accomadate their larger waistlines.

Nice terminology Archi.

Perhaps people should stop moaning about what people choose to arm their armies with. 1) If someone screws themselves over, it's their own problem and 2) who cares if it doesn't make 110% sense, we're playing for fun not to be 'perfect'

Also how do you tell what infrastructure a country has?

Soldiers have been sent new guns. Let's just say they're good guns, to save me the trouble of looking for the best possible guns for 75000 soliders.

I hate these guns, they disapear and cooler guns come! Ever heard of a budget.

Unless the guns are much more expensive...I switch my Peashooter for a Phaser Pistol....I don't mind.
