Research on improved artillery, and 'perfect' mirrors begin. Is the second one possible, Archi? It would be a coating or shield that acts as a perfect mirror, with down to nearly the atom no imperfections, making it the perfect antilaser. Would be backed by aerogel in order to insulate whatever's behind it as well.

Its possible to make a perfect mirror, but keeping it perfect is impossible.

Example:

Laser fires at the mirror, a particle of dust gets in the way, becomes superheated, lands on the mirror, transfers heat, heat expands the mirror, creating irregularities, the irregularities allow more heat energy to be deposited...the whole thing destablises and becomes useless.

 

 

However, perfect mirrors would allow you to store energy in laser form, creating a laser battery, potentially storing an unlimited amount of power (Photons have no mass and no electric charge, their energy comes from their speed...So if you could create a racetrack, which they could not escape from, then you could extract energy as and when)

The only real issue with it is that if it was damaged, or even dented, the entire battery would become entirely useless...Potentially becoming superheated, or possibly just being insta-drained.

In either case, if you were relying on it for anything...now you arn't.

Laser has to be coherent; I think that it would be hard to keep it that way if you intend to store it. Also photons has some mass (E=mc^2), however it is, and probably always will be, negligible.

If the energy was stored in the battery then it could be made coherant afterwards using some complex watsits. Which you would need anyway to regulare flow...since you are unlikely to use the whole battery instantly.

For the foreseeable future laser batteries would be confined to being useful on planets and on ships only...

 

 

Photons don't have mass in the sense that they occupy space like a proton does. So you can store billions of photons in the same area, where as you can't store any more than one proton in an area.

Since the next decade is tomorrow, I will work out the rest of my spending.

 

628 billion goes into Fortress Britannia, completing it.

 

64 billion goes into creating a smaller fortress around London.

 

26 billion goes into Project Underground.

 

628+64+26 = 718

 

+ 100 billion from the donation to the Indian cooperative space program = 818 billion

-818 billion

=301,422,812,500

 

I will be gone for a while later, so I may not be on in time to spend the rest of my treasury.

 

If I'm not on in time, Archi can assume that the 301.4 billion goes into paying off some loans that I had from Iran and Japan.

 

50 billion would go to Iran.

 

250 billion would go to Japan.

 

The money will remain in my treasury until the next decade starts, so it would be spent at "the last moment". This will enable me to make any last-minute decisions should I change my mind.

For now they do, I imagine they'll do something to piss of eachother, good example being how Sere didn't back up Dusty and Dusty got a bit pissed.

 

Dusty is to anti rules to be kept in an alliance, I bet he'll do something to disrupt the European peace, Grim will soon be strong enough that he may even disregard his allies. Doom is trustworthy I guess and will keep peace, but if she is messed around in anyway she'll want compensation, Sere is his own continent.

Whats going to happen is that everyones but then try to pretend that they're not in an attempt to not feel bad about themselves, no-ones going to fight and then someones going to attack someone else and everyone will fall apart.

Kind of does.

A box cannot exist where another box exists, they have to be in different locations, since they are composed of matter, which gives them mass.

Energy can exist where other energy is, since they are not composed of matter, hence they have no mass.

Energy=mass, you need to learn some physics. If you have i.e. a hollow sphere with a perfect mirror inside and put it on a scale it would show that it weights more with light inside. Just like a warm sphere would weight more than a cold one. However, the difference is negligible.

Like Ross said I think that the start of the next hegemony should be fairer, maybe each city you have would give you and IAG of 50 billion ,or whatever is sensible, and that you could start with a maximum of 4 or something cities.

It would also prevent people from just giving away their land to others and keep the IAG to make their countries easier to defend which is just stupid.

 

Photons have energy, and since energy is mass also mass, however no rest mass, therefore they travel at the speed of light, which is also the max speed possible.
