The Dark Lord
Hmmm I guess, I just like corps better. Corps is a military term though. Corporation is what you're looking for. -------------------- Britain hails the rise of a new corporate state, which means that there are only two corporate states in the world now. Anywho, the Chaplain Corps of the Greater Britain military has been nicknamed the 'God Squad'. The name has now stuck. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. Icuownage
Oh I thought corps was short for corporation Mmkay, East Indian Space Corporation it is then. Icuownage
India announces that their space elevator is practically finished, it will hopefully open space fully now and allow construction of ships to be easier, and much, much less costly. Icuownage
I thought most of that gets worked off during construction, but ok, I'll start paying it off now. Another 300 days O-o..... A bit costly if you ask me... archimage_a
Its not supposed to be easy =P Sides, people want to stay on Earth, it seems, so its only fair. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Icuownage
Look how exciting it is now though, nothing is happening. No, people only want to stay on Eath cause they didn't really think of researching space technology, and now that the people who did think about it have it, we can't do much cause people want to stay. That price would even take the richest country 100 years almost to get, probably around 80 or 90, but thats how long it takes to learn cold fusion, and thats extremely theoretical and a hard tech. 30 trillion can buy the planet at this day and age probably, it is beyond all of the GDP's of all countries combined. Crazy, but I guess I'ma just have to wait paciently and hope that people gain an interest and help. archimage_a
The space elevator is also an immense theoretical and design challange...really it needs a 40 year tech to build.Sides, 70% is a massive cash break for you. Essentially cuts 560 billion off of the basic ship price of 800 billion...Ok it doesn't cut the price of the modules or the engines or anything like that...but its still a pretty major cash break. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Icuownage
The equipment and stuff that goes on the ship is the most expensive part! I wont be building that many ships, infact if you look in the long run, if I spend 30 trillion, I'm spending more on the space elevator than I did save, so I'm better off just not doing this. To put it into perspective, and titanium ship base cost if 800 billion, and you say I'd cut off 560 billion, around 50 ships I would have to build before I get any profit, and they would be titanium, not very useful in the long run. While the carbon nanotube and above ships, I think the most expensive is 5600 billion, this would knock off 3920, this does seem rather cost effective, but it's still rather costly. Especially as I can't build these ships properlly yet, and I wont be able to for a long time if I decide to put 100% of my budget into this, and this project would still take somewhere around 300 years. Still doesn't even take off the most expensive part, a shield generator, size dependent, and the next ship I plan to build is a miner/frigate like ship, and it would cost me above a trillion just to buy the shield generator, defenses and engines would probably cut to another two trillion. I'm not angry that the ships are actually expensive, it does allow people to not overpower everything, well not yet anyway. I'm just annoyed by the fact that an extremely large wonder, I think the second largest in the game currently, is going to take this long. If you want I'll allow the speed up function to get removed for this wonder and it'd give me another 25 years construction time. Though this has to apply to everyone.. archimage_a
Ico, just hang fire for a while, ok  Right now it will take 300 years, but who knows what the next 50 years is gonna hold. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Icuownage
Uhh absolutely nothing for India... 100% of budget is currently gone, I can't do crap, war is out of the option due to mega alliances, space is to expensive for everyone but Grim, research only goes so far. If I put in 50% of my budget (thats still pushing it) It takes 600 years.... Seriously. I'm going to see if anyone wants to donate, there literally a fully completed space elevator out of service in India right now. Currently I'll put 0% in, cause I'm not ruining my country for something that has a mediocre effect compared to effort put in. I am seriously better off just building ships the old fashioned way which is what I'm doing. archimage_a
Indeed, that is what I meant...wait a while and come back to it in 50 years...You have already completed the time stuff, you just need the cash. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Wisp
Wait, how would it take 300 years? It's 30 trillion. Your IAG is 1.7t.. That'd take like 20 years, if you were putting like 80% in. Don't know what you're talking about...Oh, and I think at this point it should be: Space travel is too expensive for anyone but Grim and Doom. I'm catching up to Grim pretty fast, at this rate I'll pass him in two decades or so. Hegemony-Spain
archimage_a
Hmmm, of course, if people clubbed together...and Space exploration is still pretty expensive, even for Grim...he is spending a whole decade's worth of cash building his ship. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
Wisp
Yeah, if I wanted to build that ship I pmed to you a bit ago, it'd take 99% of my IAG this decade. But I mean how does India's budget make it take 300 years? Is his IAG suddenly 100b? Hegemony-Spain
Icuownage
Ok yeah I calculated that wrong, ironically I had a maths test today XD. 30 years then, I think.
