Plasma windows are existing technology wich is capable of holding matter away with a preassure difference of six-to-nill atmospheres. They are what in sci-fi is called shields.

Ok in real life they only exist in really small places, they can't stop any solid matter getting through as they are pretty weak and if you were to make them strong they would require thousands of volts of electricity and what would they become, your magic if someone attacks you everyone dies shield.

Also, Plasma windows aren't theory. They exist. The only theory part is making them bigger, which can be disregarded, as 99% of people who study science will tell you "Yeah, they can be made bigger, you just need more energy".

Plasma windows require 8kW/cm, so with enough research on them and power generation it should be enough for a ship.

You know that they won't stop bombs and such - they are just heat.

They are are the equivalent to a sheet of lasers and a buble of syrup around the ship. Don't say your guesses like they're facts.

What would penetrate the shield out of a bullet would be a spray of molten steel/lead and out of a bomb it would only be shrapnell left. Shields however cannot block light or radiation.

So..... if someone fires a big bullet at you only the outside will be burnt and it'll probably still hit or if they do something really fast.

If you were to fire a bullet through a laser it would probably be ever so slightly melted but not to the extent your on about with a ridiculous amount of power.

Hex, plama shields can deflect bullets, depending on how much power you are applying, but it is difficult to generate enough power. Their main use is keeping oxygen inside the ship while still allowing fighters and such to leave.

Hex, we're talking several thousand degrees here, plasma is superheated gas, a plasma window uses superheated plasma, the bullet is slowed down by the viscosity of the plasma then molten by the heat, what's left is a small, short spray of molten metal.

Its impossible for plasma to have viscosity.

Even if what you were talking about was possible it would require about five powerstation to work, lasers that can burn require huge amount of power to work.
