RpgGamer
...Aparently OT doesn't play Magic: The Gathering. Good to know. Anyone 'round here still play Yu-Gi-Oh? I've managed to get back into it a few months ago... Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. das
no, but how do you feel knowing UD counter-fitted a metric ton of rare cards killing the secondary market of Yugioh :P "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. RpgGamer
I feel confused and scared. i dunno, my local dollar store discovered a crate of the older generation cards, and are selling them for like a third of their worth. I'm enjoying my second wave of Labyrinth of Nightmare :-w Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. das
in all seriousness the collectivity of your game has been ruined. I've heard various estimates and numbers of fakes (you could probably google it and find it easily enough if you really want to know, I don't play Yu-gi-oh so I didn't care about the numbers but the impact and questions it raises in sports) but supposedly 500k to a couple million of the rarest of the rare holo's were counter-fitted. Ud lost Marvel VS, Yu-Gi-Oh, WoW ccg and the abilty to make MLB, NFL and NBA cards all in a 4 month span. Epic collapse of an industry giant. The cool thing is if you don't care about value, you can build great decks for cheap. Luckily for you the yu-gi-oh game plans to continue under a new manufacture i believe, Marvel VS is dead in the water. Orpheus
I still have a full Exodia set sitting in my safe. I plan on pawning it off at one point, when I get a good offer. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.
RpgGamer
The cool thing is if you don't care about value, you can build great decks for cheap. This. I never bothered collecting considering they released a new 124 like every month for a good 3 years. Wasn't gonna happen. I'm a deck builder, and I occasionally go to local tournaments, and frequently host my own "unofficial" ones. It's a shame what happened to the company, but it actually made my life easier. das
UD sucked anyway for sports, kinda glad they are gone. It's interesting to know how you felt, I was always a collector first - Gamer second when I played Deciphers Star Wars and Pokemon "Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. RpgGamer
UD sucked anyway for sports, kinda glad they are gone. It's interesting to know how you felt, I was always a collector first - Gamer second when I played Deciphers Star Wars and Pokemon I collected pokemon cards. the card game sucked, but the cards were fun as anything to collect. until there were more than 150, then I kinda gave up. UD's initial downfall scared me, but at that point I was already losing interest in yu-gi-oh anyway. But now I see it as an oppurtunity to get awesome cards easily. Which made the game fun again. Especially with all these next-gen cards that are rediculously overpowered. Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. das
meh, as a guy who spends lots on sports/nonsports (been big into the entertainment stuff by inkworks and rittenhouse recently) cards weekly, I see it as an industry killer that could cripple the card market as a hole. Of course forged holograms are slightly different than forged autograph inserts, but it's not hard to think what if..... The Dark Lord
Are holographic Ancient Mew cards rare? I have two from when the movie came out in 2000. I would imagine that they would be hard to find now. Not that I still collect any type of card, of course. I just have them from my childhood, stored away in a notebook of Pokemon cards that is about 3-5 inches thick. Probably some of my most-prized possessions from childhood. Tacos
i have three of those :D I always thought they were rare, my friends at school offered me three pieces of exodia for one of them. I used to be a yu-gi-oh TCG fan but never a magic fan.
michel555555
Neighbor used to have an obsetion with magic but i could never get into the gameplay. waiting all those turns for mana, yuck. I've at one point or another collect pretty much every card series. Digimon, pokemon, inuyasha, duel masters was a fun game to play but i didn't like the mana aspect that it shared with magic. i've got the complete first series of pokemon in mint condition. Wonder how much that would be worth right now with pokemon seeming to be a big game again. (Why won't it die!!!!! theres only so many times u can make a series around going to 8 gyms over and over) Still collect yugioh from time to time but since we moved theres just no one to actually play it with out here. [spoiler=click you know you wanna]Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!
Solartide
Should play elves. Buddies and I were doing some casual the other day, it was Clerics, UR control, Elves, and Massive green mana ramp (me). Like 4 turns in I had tons of huge creature son the board, clerics had like nothing, UR control had nothing, but they only had 2 creatures in their deck so..., and finally, elves cast fireball for 40 damage on turn 4. Cleric was about to scoop his field when UR put swerve on the stack. that resolved and I lost the game =(

A few of us on campus have an Elder Dragon Highlander play group every Monday. Aside from that, I don't play a ton and don't spend a lot of money. As far as Rise of the Eldrazi goes, it's definitely gonna change things up in our EDH group. Other than that, I really want to make a level up deck just for fun cause I like the dynamic.
