New (f2p) 'sub-class' of ranging pures: The "never-miss' ranger?

Featured Replies

With the new sighted longbows, f2pers can get +151 ranging accuacy 151

This brings to question, is there potential for "Never-miss" teams in (f2p) multi-wildy?

Example: imagine you and your friend are venturing through (f2p) multi bounty-hunter with the following stats:

atk - 80

str - 90

def - 70

cons - 85

pray - 50

cbl 100

Suddenly you come across a team of 4 "never-miss" rangers with full dhide + coif, with following stats:

range - 90

defence - 70

pray - 50

cons - 85

cbl - 88

(170 max hit w/ eagle eye)

151 range accuracy

They all team on your friend, he constantly has to eat because they virtually never miss EVEN with his 70 def + full rune

Eventually you have too flee, just making it out b4 your friend runs out of food.

This example may not seem that dangerous but what if they were coupled with 2h-wielding (or worse yet, gravite 2h wielding, raising f2p max hit to 370+), rune-clad str pures? Constant damage (even at longbow speed) + danger of ko.

Its just a thought, but we could be seeing these "never-miss" pures once in a while

Realistically, unless they make these items require a pittance in tokens, they will be too time-expensive for many people to use in PKing. Very few people use charged FoG robes to mage in, for the same reason.

Thats mainly because you lose the robes if you die. IF the weapons have a high alch value, I don't see why not. Finally long bows will have more uses!

Which would give people a reason not to play in +1 worlds, just like P2P.

Then we would have these longbowers fighting each other.

Are we discussing the impacts of these "pures" in the game, because I see no big change other then more people using a long bow, assuming they get enough tokens for it...

The speed class of weapons in Daemonheim seems to be different from what we have. If I'm not wrong, Dungeoneer longbows is class 5, as opposed to class 4 for the standard longbows we have. A one-on-one fight with someone using the sighted longbow isn't going to be any tougher than now. In fact, I think the gravite bow is more of a threat than the sighted longbow.

Except this is clan pking in f2p. For example in P2P would you rather see ten people running at you with whips or ten people running at you with godswords? Similar thing here in F2P, if you can mix a decent number of shortbows for pressure and longbows for the burst, then I believe longbows are worth taking over shortbows.

Hmm, you have a point. I think I might get myself one as well, when they fix the token cost.

F2p tanking would be easy, if they all have long bows it will give you plenty of time to safe up and find a 1v1 area. I'd suspect more people using these in 1v1 in edge or something rather than multi pking but you never know. I don't think it will have a huuuuuuge impact as you think it will.

Speaking of the F2P items... why does the Gravite 2H Sword penalize slash attack?

The KB doesn't strike me as particularly reliable right now...

They accidentally shifted around the stats with some items in the knowledge base.

I've come to this conclusion when I saw a two-handed sword with +160 magic attack bonus.

But... where would they have shifted it from? 2H Swords have slash and crush attack bonuses... it almost looks like they meant to have a Gravite Maul and replaced it with a 2H because there aren't any mauls on F2P yet.

level ~65 to be able to afford a longbow sight makes this an unlikely turn of events. it would be cool though

My thought exactly, that pure would have to spend a lot time acquire the tokens to actually get the sight in the first place. After gone through the dungeon, it would be pretty hard not to level some stats unintentionally (unless you are totally non skilled involved, which you can really)

That pure can just be skilling/leeching/opening doors/whatever on a 5-man team, large dungeon. That way, he doesn't have to gain so much combat exp and can gain loads of dungeoneering exp at the same time.

Longbow Sights are now 10k tokens (or level 50 dungeoneering) as of now, that should make it easier to get one.

But these bows would not be useful exept for high level f2p'ers (80-100+ cbl) where high def/ low weapon accuracy makes many fights where every-one mostly hits zeros, the longbow would then come-in and change that.
