I've been wondering something. Did jagex ever intend on have a monk combat class to go along with melee, mage, and range? I know prayer is usually just used as a sort of combat booster, but I was wondering if that is what they were thinking or if they really thought players would create accounts that are prayer bassed. If you notice the adventurers in the lost city quest are of the 4 different combat types and not just 3. So that right there says that they might think of prayer as its own form of combat. If this is the case I believe jagex should improve prayer so that it can become more of its own indipendent combate type.

In traditional rpgs, there were 4 or 5 character classes that would make up an adventuriny party: Warrior, Ranger, Wizard, Priest, Rogue (well, originally Thief, but some unmentionable parental groups took exception to their kids having fun pretending to be thieves).

It looks like Jagex was originally trying to somewhat mirror that type of adventuring party, sans the rogue (thief) due to the target audience, but couldn't figure out how to work in a class with healing, and priest-classes are kinda useless without either healing or a good offensive weapon or set of spells.

what about if they had aura's or defencive spells (ring of recoil style)

yep straight from diablo 2 :)

They could make an attack prayer that uses up 1 prayer point each shot... Holy Arrow, Arrow of Chaos, and whatever. Stupid idea.

They could always make an extension to slayer or combat or even a quest reward that gives "Monk's gauntlets" and according to a certain factor you can use unarmed combat to destroy things like you had a weapon, depending on your prayer level.

Most Monk classes are unarmed.

It's a PKing TRIANGLE not a square and

Monks have no weapons

yes they have weapons what do you call their level 99 str with 99 prayer?

edit- i figured out the combat of a level 99 str and prayer + 80 cb

you would be level 65 and you would aproximately hit 12's with the prayer ultimate strength now that doesnt seem like alot but imagine hitting that and not worrying about losing full rune or weapon

| 60 ATTACK | 81 STRENGTH | 72 HITPOINTS |

| 80 MAGIC | 13 PRAYER | 1 DEFENSE | 65 COMBAT |
