April 29, 201016 yr I currently have a gorgonite baxe bound, but have heard a spear would be better for the different attack styles. Which is better? Oh, and I haven't found any ore better than gorgonite to mine and nothing better from boss drops.
April 29, 201016 yr As you said, the spear would be better. If you manage to get one that is. If you have the smithing level, play a medium sized dungeon with someone else and high-alch about everything you find so you'll be able to afford 4 gorg ores, so you can make the spear. Or, of course, if you're lucky you find a gorg rock. There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.

April 29, 201016 yr the B axe would be better for monsters weak to slash, what makes the spear so good is that it has all 3 attack styles, and monsters in dungeon have very profound weaknesses. Zombies are MUCH MUCH easier to hit with slash then with crush. Ice monsters are MUCH MUCH easier to hit with Crush then with slash. It just makes it easier when you learn the weaknesses of all the monsters, as it's good for nearly every situation. It also helps that it can be poisoned. April 29, 201016 yr I'd say that the spear is MUCH better since the attack styles are exaggerated. As Sir Izenhyme stated, you really see a massive difference when you use the correct attack style. This really plays a role when battling armored characters: they tend to be weak to stab, and it's hard to do much of anything to them with a battle ax.

April 30, 201016 yr I would go as far as to take a spear two tiers lower than the wep you're currently using. And the poison is a huge advantage, right now I've got a gorgonite spear (p++). I piety the fool.
