This thread is silly. Along with half of the rants threads. Anyways - I don't get it, why is whip overpowered?

I haven't used one. I'm just basing on what I see other people do.

 

The point of rants threads is to complain.............

Of course it's silly!

 

Lol rants. You can't really blame other people for making whip look overpowered, it's not really that much stronger than the Dragon Longsword, albiet being superior in Damage Per Second. If another player has higher stats, then he is bound to hit higher.

here i was expecting to find a thread where someone was showing how unbelievably dominant chaotic weapons were compared to whips and the lot. but i found someone comparing a d long to a whip and complaing about pures? i know i'm flaming pretty bad here, but if your worried about pures with whips, you've got another thing coming.

Chaotic weapons are untradeable. Makes them way harder to get.

Compared to some of the users on these forums, yes. Playing 2.5 years is newbie. For example, I've been playing for about 3x as long. I have a Scythe (missed bunny ears :( ) Just an example.

 

If you are not gonna have a whip till you get 85 slayer, good luck. But dont complain about other people commiting the unpardonable sin of buying one, and thus being able to hit more and faster then you are.

 

And for something completed unrelated. I read your sig, and the part about wieldable knives. Way back in RSC, jagex made knives wieldable. But, there was a glitch, and players were able to basically equip as many knives as they wanted. The bonuses added up. Essentially players were able to get a weapon that was like 200+ weapon aim and power. Kinda way way overpowered. Jagex fixed the bug, but not before many people were killed unsuspectingly when they got jumped by these knife wielding maniacs. We are talking about 1 hit KOs and stuff. Just a fun fact that is totally irrelevant and off topic.

How is that a problem? Even if you foolishly decide to DIY everything, you can have about 35 potions made in under 10 minutes by farming and then making potions.

Your attitudes and viewpoints are representative of those who have little understanding or analytical skills. Hence the "newbie" mentality.

 

Also 2.5 years is new, you probably don't even remember the time before the grand exchange. Many players here on tip.it have been playing since 2001. 1406 total can be achieved with as little as 6 milion xp, which can take an intelligent and willed player no more than 200 hours, which for a casual player is around 2 months. Some players have more xp in one skill than you have in all 25.

It's all about balance, they've put more work into getting the whip so as a result their defence is obviously going to suffer.

But I do agree with the heading of your topic. At level 75 attack you can wield a godsword- you can easily enough hit over 700 LP of damage with that.... what happens when there is level 90 stuff released outside of Daemonheim? Wildy's just guna turn into a haven for a bunch of 1-hit-wonders :D :P

If you find RS too easy, either go solo the Corporeal Beast or suck it up. Tbh.
