Yeah, my reasoning would be to adopt rather than sperm bank. Not to sound like adopting is like a pet store because I don't know how adopting works but by means of having a child that way, it signifies that you care about them distinctly, rather than just accepting what sperm you are going to get.

 

Plus more humans is exactly what we need right now. [/sarcasm]

 

Eaxctly. There are so many children in orphanages waiting to go to a good home, rather than brining a new one into this world. Thew only excuse I can think of is wanting to give birth to your own child...or having some sort of genetic influence...

That's really why I'm a bit *eh* about all sorts of medical things such as IVF and whatnot. If you can't have a kid, but want one, it's much better to adopt one imo. There are thousands of children out there that really need a home. Women *are* biologically driven to have children, but I don't see why they can't adopt instead. That's why I plan to adopt if I ever want a kid in the future :thumbup:

Although this topic is controversial and a bit edgy for off topic, it does contain a fascinating moral dilemma or two

 

However after reading this thread i'd like to ask two things.

 

Lets not insult each other and Please for the love of all things innocent and fluffy, don't post any personal donation experiences. If you can do it in a mature and thoughtful manner and offer insight to the moral dilemma at hand - Fine.

 

But if I read another "I get paid a hundred to do what i do at home lulz" - I'm going to get angry and lock the thread.

Ok, so women are biologically driven to have children. But this still isn't imperative. Lots of women don't have children, so obviously it isnt required. Ergo, women are fully able to adopt. But even besides, I don't see the harm in sperm donors. So you won't know your real father- neither do some adopted kids.

Your thoughts about it?

 

No thanks. I would never donation my sperms. If something bad happens in the future, I don't want people coming up to me and say "You're the father, pay up!" lol, pwned much?

No problem with it, genes are arbitrary, it's about upbringing. I do have a problem with families intentionally trying to have 5 or more children though, but that's the case independent of the method of conception.
