High School Jobs

I pull pints at my local pub, ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã5.20 an hour, its easy work and everyone there just chats about footy/women etc, so i just chat with them, i also maintain their website to help with my web design and coding course i do.

Yesterday I got a new job. I bag groceries at my military grocery store. I'm paid solely on tips. Yesterday I made $55 on a 4 hour shift. I get all my money in cash, and don't have to pay taxes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The job before that I worked at Hecht's selling purses. That paid $6.50 an hour with horrible wages.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So high schoolers, what kind of jobs do you guys have? Do you like them?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Actually you DO have to pay taxes on that, but chances are you make so little that the IRS won't come after you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Me personally; I worked for a VFX company for the last year and a half of highschool, and before that I worked for the district as a computer tech.

 

 

 

I'm in college now and I'm still working for the same VFX company... I also do alot of investing on the side. Google baby.

I worked Sears Home. Basically like the Sears Dept. stores except they specialize in selling furniture. It could get pretty hard sometimes especially because the guy I worked with was a lazy arse. Also the lifting of furniture was kinda hard too but I just saw it as a free workout. haha. It worked out pretty good at the end got a 15% discount on my mini-fridge before I went to University. Got like $9/hour, can't complain paid for my 1st year books.

Well im just 16 (birthday 11th oct :P) been working at a pharmacy for about 2 months now. The good thing is I work saturday afternoons 12 until 5:30 (half hour lunch break at 1) meaning I dont need to get up too early on saturday :D Get payed ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã4 an hour which isnt loads but saturday afternoons are pretty dam quiet so I just have to dust :P ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã20 a day = more DVDs for me :wink:

I was thinking of getting a job as a lifeguard over the summer..that pays ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã5 (~$9.50) an hour which isn't bad.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Do you have work experience in the US? I'm doing that later this year and it should really help. Just got to find something more intersting than the average work exp

I feel really kind of sad, never having a real job so far. (I'm a junior in hs now)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I work on the ranch I live on moving cattle for 5 dollars an hour and mowing for 40 dollars a week, but I kind of "quit" that. I did take pictures at polo games, but I forgot to advertise so I got no money and 5 gb less HD space because of that :?
