Both Longswords and Rapiers damage are halved at corp, so neither of them are a good option. The only weapon that is not damage halved at corp is the Z spear and possibly SoL (Source?). The Rapier is good for monsters or players with low defense. Maul is the best PvP KO weapon, and CLS is pretty much the best for everything in-between. If you had a choice of which to get 1st, I would go with the CLS as it has a all around usefulness to it. From my friend who uses it to solo Bandos, he said it is far superior than a whip on bosses.

May 28, 201016 yr RS Wiki Corporeal Beast Some players suspect using a non-spear type weapon, such as a longsword, results in a damage reduction. This has been confirmed by Jagex as nothing more than rumor. However, to confirm the theory, there has been videos posted on people using Leaf Bladed Swords and Vesta's Longsword at Corporeal Beast, and has not hit any number beyond half of the weapon's max hit. What is even more interesting is that the Dark Bow special attack can only hit 4-4 minimum damage instead of 8-8, giving further evidence of the "Damage Reduction". I found this on the CB Page on the rs wiki. Seems it is only a rumor, but from testings it seems it might be true. There's a reason why the elite corp teams still only use spears at corp, even with the new chaotic weapons...

CLS and CR would inflict halved damage on Corp. ZS is better. The shields are good, but situational. However, they are not as good as Elysian or Divine spirit shields. Chaotic weapons are better than whips and godswords. Of course they're better at GWD. I can't answer your other questions. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
