New weapons, armor, and upgrading.

First off:

Wooden dagger

This would be made with a knife and regular logs. it acts like a regular bronze dagger, but it can only attack 5 times. On the fifth strike, the weapon will splinter, causing the target to take 1-5 damage every 4 seconds, but only for 16 seconds. This item can be made in F2P.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Glass-shard armor.

This item is P2P.

1. make glass sheet

2. use glass sheet with pestle and mortar

3. You get glass shards. use these on any piece of armor.

Glass-shard can be applied to shields, platebodies and platelegs. any armor exept dragon can be sharded.

Anyone who strikes a glass-armored warrior in melee combat, will take 1-3 damage per glass armor equipped. meaning that if a person wears 3 glassed items, the enemy would take a max of 9 damage.

Glass-shard armor decays with damage. after 200 damage is taken, the glass effect is gone. Armor can be reglassed by anyone with the appropriate crafting skill.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sword edging.

This involves creating a sword-edge from a gemstone, and using it on a slash-capable weapon, to increase the offensive power of the weapon.

1. Obtain a weapon

2. Obtain a gem

3. cut the gem, and then cut it again to get a blade-edge

4. Use the blade egde on the weapon.

Any slash-capable weapon can be given a blade-edge. The amount of gems needed to edge a weapon is the same as the amount of bars needed to create that weapon. So, a 2h will need 3 gems, a dagger 1 gem, and a longsword 2 gems.

an edged weapon will be seen ingame, with a colored edge corresponding to the gem.

This will lead to color coding: full zammy warriors opting for ruby/rune longswords, diamond/rune for sara, and so on.

the lowest is of course bronze/sapphire, the highest will be dragon/dragonstone.

F2P may go no higher than Adamant/emerald, members can do that and everything higher.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firebrands

Firebrands are used in the shield slot. They provide little defence bonus, depending on the wood used to make them. When a firebrand user is attacked in melee combat, the attacker will take damage. Firebrands can also light up dark places such as the lumby caves.

To make a firebrand:

1. cut down any tree. the higher level, the better.

2. use a knife on the logs, to get a new "Stick" item.

3. obtain an article of clothing*

4. use a knife on the clothing to obtain "rags"

5. use rags on stick, this gives "Unlit firebrand"

6. use tinderbox on unlit firebrand.

*this doesnt matter. anything not made of leather will do. priest robes, wizard hat, an apron, your mage skirt, a prince outfit (i don't recommend this :shock: ), whatever.

F2P can make firebrands from F2P trees. P2P have maple, yew, achey, magic and god-knows-what-else trees to make firebrands from.

Making firebrands adds to WC and firemaking.

Wooden dagger: Useless. utterly useless. No offense, but a wooden dagger is so weak that unless it's made from yew or something, it wouldn't penetrate armor. not even with the splinters. and you'd get hit with the splinters too. useless.

Glass shard armor: It's ok. But, since your opposition is probably going to have a weapon, and if that weapon has a crush attack, wouldn't it shatter on the first hit...? I can't really see armor plated with glass shards standing up to a good whack from a warhammer...

Sword edging: This idea is much better. Although, you should probably add a special attack for the dragon/dragonstone ones... or have an upgraded special attack... just an opinion.

Firebrands: 3 letters only. WTF??? more useless than a wooden dagger. you'd have more luck wielding a chunk of leather in the other hand

The highest will be: Dragon/Dragonstone.

But with what armor will Onyx correspond? :?

Maybe you forgot that Onyx is the most valuable Gem there is in RuneScape... :)

And there is no higher-ranked armor than Dragon armor... 8)

[Well maybe Barrows Chest armor... But I suppose not.] :o

Wooden dagers could be useful if they required no more than 2 levels of crafting and thus could be made by newbs.

Glass armor is ok, but 200 damage is too much. I'd say it would also depend on the type of damage. Exempli gratia, it would have a bonus against slash attacks, no penalty/bonus to stab attacks, and a penalty against crush attacks.

For the Weapon edging, it could be like this

Bronze ==> Opal or Jade (But they would have to be tradeable to f2p, so many members would attack me) or Saphire

Iron ==> Saphire

Steel ==> Emerald

Black/White ==> Ruby

Mith ==> Diamond

Addy ==> Dragonstone

Rune ==> Onyx

Dragon ==> Un-edgeable

And I odn't get the fourth one.

This gilding idea sounds more like a new skill than an addition to crafting. From my view, crafting is already complete as a skill, much like smithing and mining.

Also, why the low level armor use member gems? A bit ironic, dont you think?

The only benefit to the wooden dagger is that the splinters would act like a f2p poison, only with less damage and shorter period of time. Someone could use it 4 times, put it in their inventory when they go to the wildy and attack someone with it. It'd break (and splinter the opponent) and then they could switch to a better weapon.

Not so useless after all.

i cant get a wooden dagger u lied :evil:

ummm...... these are suggestions not things that are in the game now. Make sure you know what forum you are in and read the thread before posting.

These are interesting ideas, I think that you would be able to enchant the gems to put on weapons to give you special bonuses against certain npc's, like dragonstone would be more effective against dragons, something like that.

wooden daggers could work if there was some new wood that was metal like.

Glass shards, these would have a max recoil of 1 and it would not be every time, because this would destroy the ring of recoil and would be stupid to assume that each time someone attacked you they would grase you armor, a hally for instants would suffer nothing from the glass unless they ran into you.

Edging has be suggested by me and it was stupid, the only thing you do with something like this is to crush the gem and stick it in the wooden dagger.

Branding would require jagex to make 474630(3*26 to power of 3)new combination items for each item, so its not likely.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
