Why buy these then?

Listen dude, interacting with a game's enviromental sounds is no important to me at all. Do you know why? Because i can get that experience by just using a TV. Therefor i can EASILY settle for only good interacting with friends.

Why buy a headset with mic? The biggest factor for why for many people do that is to interact with other people. Yes...Interact with people, and don't get why you ask such a stupid question.

Uh anywyay, I use a pair of Logitech notebook headphones, it comes in a case and it's behind the ears, so it's pretty comfortable. Don't know the ones you're talking about, but mine are pretty sweet and I'd recommend them:

Whoa, no need for the attitude.

Usually I hear people use these things for the game environments, such as Free for All in Modern warfare 2. Hell, I use my Skullcandy GIs sometimes when I'm playing free for all.

You don't need to talk to me like I don't have friends either, that was just rude. I know very well what a head set with a mic is for.

I just got annoyed, didn@t mean anything by it. Just that in my case game enviroments is no important to me at all, interacting with friends is.

Whoa whoa whoa! halo2proman asked why you were considering this headset because he has heard that the people who typically buy it are interested in it because of the game environmentals. So I think he's suggesting that if that doesn't matter to you, you could probably find another headset that isn't known for good game environmentals and thus may be cheaper.

That's just my interpretation of his posts, I know nothing about this headset or any other one for that matter :P

What Trip said, but if you are getting these for a console, why not get a regular headset that they sell? I'm not sure of Sony's PS3 headsets. But Microsoft's 360 headsets work just fine for the $20.

However if its for the PC I can understand you, but to spend so much money on a head set, for a console, thats meant for the game environment, and to use it for chatting, just didn't make sense to me.

Sorry for the confusion.

It was not my intention to cause this ruckus.

No problem. My sister bought a Sony Ps3 Headset (Wireless Bluetooth). I wouldn't call it a headset, but it has earpluggs and mic, and i find it totally crap.

From a scale of 1-10 of good sound quality I'd say it's 5/10. Like i said a friend recommend Turtle beach, and it's a universal Headset and it seems many people are satisfied with it.

So i thought why not? I'd like to get a cheap Headset, but if it's not good for talking and hearing others then it will just be a waste.

Before I got my G35s I used to use a Logitech Clearchat Pro headset, which cost about £20, and the sound quality on that was pretty good :) Just take note when you're buying of what type of connector you get, headsets have either an audio jack (goes in headphone socket) or USB connector.

I have used it; after five months the microphone stopped working. Best Buy stopped selling the model I purchased; I then bought the wireless one. For some reason they made the frequency the same as the XBox wireless network adapter, that means I need to disconnect it before I can connect to the internet.

I think you're better off just buying a cheap headset/mic from like, Target or something. You might need some kind of extension cable if you're gonna sit quite a ways from the TV.

Up to you, though, if you wanna spend $65+ on a headset moreso for chatting than environmental.

The entire point of Turtle Beach headsets is to allow the user to locate the origin of sounds. They work by having multiple speakers per ear, giving a surround-sound feel, which allows me to hear when an enemy is sneaking up behind me in COD, for example, so I can turn around and knife him quickly. Turtle Beaches are not cheap, but I do suggest buying an X4, if this is what you're looking for. It's double the price, but is well worth it in terms of durability and Dolby 5.1 support. I use X4's, and I am a competitive gamer (participate in SEAL Cup, Frag Cup, etc) and it's more than enough. There's also a Voice Booster, which boosts the voice chat volume when the game volume gets loud, so chat won't be drowned out. I don't know if the ones you are looking at has that feature, so you should check it out. Make sure that the voice chat and the game volume can be adjusted separately, or you'll find yourself struggling to hear your friends over the game.

However, if you only want to chat, all $70+ headsets are overkill, including Turtle Beach and Triton. Just get a simple Xbox mic and be done with it.
